[Solved] (?) - Archambault Terminal - Nuclear Threat Closes Starport...

So, I thought I'd head over and see what was happening, maybe get vapourised and added to the cosmic background radiation,

but it turns out that not much is happening at all...

[EDIT]

Well... looks like once again, Galnet preceeded in-game events.

Surely after the Gnosis stuff, they would've fixed that by now.

Yeah, I did the same - I hoped against hope that the 'new dev led CGs' were being started with a bang, but as ever with galnet - ignore it.

I'm actually starting to hope they never make Galnet actually meaningful, because if there was even one that actually meant anything then people would start investigate all of them just in case, and they'd still be be 99% fake*.

* rather than the 100% #fakenews we have now

This is very disappointing.

Bring back Player written stories! Infact, just lift them straight out of Inara. There is an entire community of imaginative writers who chronicle ACTUAL in game events on a daily basis.

Come on community managers. Get communing.

Hihi, and I saw the Text in the Launcher yesterday and said to myself : "That's probably fake news as usual, but I bet folks will still fly to that place to find that out on location"

Just GALnet being GALnet :p

Maybe it's a typo... it's not a Nuclear Boom, it's an ECONOMIC BOOM!

FD: This is why nobody cares about the story arcs.

EDIT: No. Actually, this thread proves people *do* care about the story arcs... it's just when in-game activity is blatantly contradictory to the narrative, those players currently won't invest more than a cursory glance to investigate anything anymore.

This.

Manually disable all the services, pin all the local faction security states to the bottom of lockdown - which can be done, in 3.3, without messing up the BGS for several systems around - and set it going [1]. *Maybe* that's coming in today's tick and it just didn't get applied in time for the news article ... but really it should have been done on Wednesday's tick, so maybe some players discover it beforehand, we get some "what's up with this station?" threads, and then the reveal on Thursday.

I really hope the new events sort this out - the stories themselves in Galnet are decent, but they appear to be taking place in an entirely separate universe at the moment.

[1] Plenty of fancier options - make a new Tothos faction, put it in charge of the station, disable NPC trafffic and docking clearance at the station, add escape pods scattered around the station instance to rescue (maybe with Tothos-aligned terrorist NPCs attacking you), have a Fed capship show up in a POI orbiting the same planet, etc. - that are still within proven existing capabilities.

Would be nice if galnet stories were a thing to do.

Bulk credit rewards, bulk material rewards. Exclusive cargo that sells more than a ton of Void Opals.

Chasing leads, finding data and transporting it back to the origin system etc.

The only thing REAL in galnet is the thargoid station attacks and the powerplay reports.

Now the question is - was this always going to happen, or did someone at fdev read the thread, go 'that is an idea' and make a quick change?

And as ever - they won't say, so we're left to play bugged-or-intended.

Good to know though, I guess I could visit again ...... nah.

I'm in a post-engineering gameplay lull atm, so I'll be headed back so I can be added as a permanent galactic fixture in the greatest way imaginable

Just light it up for the cleansing.

And then say there are more lunatics about with more nukes, and that if your faction winds up in a certain state for too long, it might attract the crazies and *boom*.
