[SOLVED] Make Super Cruse Assist "auto throttle" disableable! (it is, just nobody told me 'til now) lol

I don't even know it that's a word or not but yea. Let us turn it the stupid thing off!

I always set SCA after entering system but would fly full speed towards the destination, then engage by clicking 75% throttle at the end.
It was much faster that way and worked beautifully.

Now if I engage at the beginning, it just putters along at 75 the whole way. How is that?? If I wait to set SCA towards the end of the cruise,
to avoid this IQ depleted mechanic, then it defeats the whole purpose of SCA.

Ooooor, even better, why doesn't this "auto throttle" go full speed and then slow down near the dock? Hmmm? You know, automatically?

Does this make any sense whatsoever? Well anyhow, at least I got my weekly rant out of the way. o7

X.

Umm. I don't think it does what you say.
Probably I'm misunderstanding.

I drop in, set SA, align target, SA kicks in.
I push throttle to full.
On nearing target, I pull throttle back, SA kicks back in, drops me to target.
?

Edit: Forgot, I have SA set to 'Manual Throttle'.
Right tab/Ship/Flight Assistance/Bottom right.

That's how SCA used to work before this update.
I wasn't aware of any 'Manual Throttle' mode.

Just looked in there and you are right, Manual Throttle!
I just don't recall this feature being mentioned anywhere though.
Maybe I missed it.

If it does what it says it does, then problem solved.
Consider this rant null and void!

Yay! \o/

X.

THX BTW..

They talked about it in the stream about the release - but you are correct they didn't mention it in the patch notes - bad fdev :(

Someone asks every few days, but since it is actually in the game the threads are all short-lived ;)

Welcome to the stupid "logic" of this game.
Because of the same stupid reason you can not activate FSD, if some GODDAMN PLANET "covers" the target.

If you mean to jump to a new system, then yes, you cannot glide through planets, if you mean to activate Super Cruise, then you can just activate it, then steer round to your target.

On PS4 I select the target and push triangle to engage, if the target is obscured, it wont let me but if I push triangle and up together, it does.

There are two function for activating the FSD, as mentioned by other posters. You can bind hyperspace, or jumping to a system to one key, and bind SC for cruising in system to another key. For instance I use J on the keyboard to jump to SC, so if a body is in the way of my hyperspace jump I can jump to SC to get around it reasonably quickly, if the target system is visible I use joy3 to jump directly into hyperspace.

There are other combos you use when playing on a PS4 or Xbox as mentioned already.

On PS4 I select the target and push triangle to engage, if the target is obscured, it wont let me but if I push triangle and up together, it does.

It's not rocket science....oh wait yes it is :)
