You need an axe
To cut a tree
But an axe is made of wood and metal
To forge the metal into an axe head you need fire
to Make fire you need wood
To get wood you need to cut a tree
To cut a tree you need axe..

so how do you get an axe?

Can you not also make axes from stone? (or is that witches?).

I have often wondered how you make a lathe or a milling machine without a lathe and a milling machine.

Flint. First a sharp, hand wielded tool to cut smaller wood. Then use this tool to cut larger pieces of wood and attach a larger flint head to these and you have your primitive Axe. This sounds horribly like one of those awful survival games where you have to eat every 10 minutes or die like you are incubating alien larvae.

Collect wood that is laying around. There is always such wood through storms, seasons, life and death etc...
Problem solved.

PS: shouldn't this be off-topic?
Never have seen a spaceship made of wood :S ...okay maybe one or two...:D

why its part of a game im making

Then whats the point of cutting the tree?

In Everquest u just use Magic and an axe appears
