What he said - the autopilot can be unpredictable and being wanted for a minor traffic infraction seems overkill.Considering its usually the autopilot ship that causes the ram, that would be a very bad idea indeed.
Ah, but if the player ships are under auto- control then it does take them into account (or at least it looks like it). It's only manually controlled ships you have to dodge.Wouldn't be just the once I have had to dodge an-autopilot controlled ship that decided to launch just as I am passing over the pad. The problem with auto-pilot is that it doesn't take into account where player ships are, only where NPC ships are, so getting rammed by an auto-pilot controlled ship and then me getting fined or imprisoned for it would be....well bizarre in the context of crime and punishment.
Wouldn't matter. It would just be criminalising manual flight.Ah, but if the player ships are under auto- control then it does take them into account (or at least it looks like it). It's only manually controlled ships you have to dodge.

It's occured to me that now we have the advanced docking computer, FD have a way to deal with station ramming and pad blocking:-
If you collide (however slowly) with another ship when the other ship is under automated control and you're not, you become wanted.
