Some advice for wings having instancing issues and network glitches.

If you have issues fighting thargoids due to instancing hitbox detection hitting a spot different than where you really are shooting shooting. Or invisible sentinals at guardian sites, empty Combat Zones, and even mining and haz res lol.

ONLY WORKS IF YOU SEE AN IPV6 ADDRESS IN YOUR SETTINGS.
If your ISP does not give you an IPV6 address, you will not be able to do this.
Only change settings in the game, not actual system network card settings.

I got everyone in our wing to actually disable IPV4 and enable IPV6 exclusively in the elite dangerous network settings under options. Some of us only had to restart the game to take effect, others had to restart their computer after applying the change.

Presto chango, we can all drop into an activity at different times and not worry. Our systems update info on the panels faster, time in witch space reduced, bringing up mission boards at stations is faster etc.

Biggest change was to our ping times, mine cut in half, some others as little as a 25% reduction in ping time. One guy no longer has any packet loss (gonna miss seeing him teleport around on screen)

We are located in different parts of the U.S. some of us as close as 10 miles away from each other.

Hope this helps some people out.

Interesting but I would need a bit more information to fully understand what is happening.

Does your Internet Provider actually provide IPV6 addresses?

Not many of the main stream ones do in the UK.

If yours does than I could see some benefit as there wouldn't be any translation from IPV4.

I've actually disabled all IPV6 addresses on my PC's.

That is why I made sure to put the line "ONLY WORKS IF YOU SEE AN IPV6 ADDRESS IN YOUR SETTINGS." in all caps

Obviously, if one can't reconnect to the servers after switching and restarting the computer, they can turn IPV4 back on.

One thing to note, here in the US, many service providers do not tell us when a change occurs. Just 6 months ago I know I didn't have an IPV6 address on my cable modem, now its there. I'm not complaining, but it may be worth checking your network settings occasionally to see if its been implemented on your end.

Ok, so it looks like your cable modem itself is getting an IPV6 address?
Is that a router as well?
I.e. is it a DHCP server issuing IP addresses to your networked PC's?

Sorry for the late reply, It is located under main menu, (before loading into open, solo or private) click on network. you will see network as an option only if you are not loaded into a game such as when you first start elite.
