Some advice on what to do.

Sounds a bit like a server-side delay. Did it look like a "tunnel" of hyperspace your were moving through that never ended?

So i just started playing the game and i took a deliver goods mission and its just felt like i was in a constant loading screen space-warping all over the place it was like 11 warps or something the i eventually ran out of fuel after a few warps, i think i need a pointer in the right direction feeling a little overwhelmed by it all.
1) Fit a Fuel Scoop and work out how to scoop fuel so you don't run out, or
2) Stop at stations to buy fuel

Also - make sure the Galaxy Map is in 'fast' not 'economy' mode, that will reduce the number of jumps - but you will need more fuel - hence (1) or (2)

In galaxy map, change routing from "economy" to "fastest". Keep your eye on fuel, visit a station or use a fuel scoop if running low. And call the Fuel Rats if you accidentally run out—they'll always help you out.
 
While you can get around a bit without a fuel scoop (although if you need to traverse larger distances you'll need to make refueling stops at space stations), the fuel scoop is such an essential and easy-to-use module that you should really purchase one and learn to use it. When you arrive at a system you'll be placed near the system's main star, and if it's a scoopable star, it will start automatically scooping it. The thing to learn is to keep the proper distance from the star while scooping (if you get too far away the scooping will stop, and if you get too close the ship will make an emergency stop and drop you out of supercruise. That can be a scary experience at first, but it isn't extraordinarily dangerous. But it will stop the fuel-scooping, of course.)

When starting a jump to a new system, the textbox on the center of the screen will tell you if you are jumping to a system where the primary star is scoopable, so you'll know in advance. (In the galaxy map you can recognize scoopable stars by their single-letter category. The acronym KGB FOAM helps you remember which star types are scoopable.)

One of the first ship modules you may want to upgrade is the FSD (ie. frame shift drive). A better FSD not only allows making longer jumps between systems, but also consume less fuel by doing so (ie. you'll be able to traverse longer distances with the same amount of fuel).

First of all: feeling overwhelmed is the proper response, we all felt that after starting the game.

Apart from installing a fuel scoop and selecting the "fast" route in the galaxy map, here are some more tips:
  • Before taking a mission, look up how far the destination is away from your starting point.
  • If you plot a course in the galaxy map, you can see if you need refueling or not to reach your target. If a "fuel star" shows up in your plotted course, it means that this star system is the very last chance to refuel your ship (via fuel scoop or via buying) before running out of fuel for the next jump.
  • After initiating a hyperjump, some info will be shown about the targetted star system during the countdown. This info also includes wether the next star system has a star that's scoopable or not.
  • Before every jump, take a quick look at the right lower corner of your HUD to see how much fuel the next jump is going to cost you. The amount that will be subtracted during the next jump is shown in a different colour. If you see that your fuel will be very low after the next jump, dock at a station in your current system to buy fuel, or use a fuel scoop at your current star.
  • If you feel you are "in a constant loading screen space-warping all over the place", maybe take on a few smaller tasks during the trip: use the Discovery Scanner in every system to discover all bodies within that system. Or use the FSS to discover even more, although the FSS is less useful in populated systems within the human bubble. All ships come with both scanners installed by default.
 
It seems that you have taken a mission via your ship. In the station concourse you can obtain missions to deliver/fetch items from settlements (and can use the APEX service) or salvage/recover items from the surface of body within the system. With a bit of cash you can buy a maverick suit, and larceny missions are very lucrative for a new player. Once the loot has been gathered, it can be sold for quite a bit. When funds allow, buy e-breaches. Flying around this or the adjacent systems can be a useful way to learn a bit about the game before longer journeys are considered.

Check your destination waypoints in the galaxy map. A solid line means you have the fuel. If it goes to dots along the way it means you will not have enough fuel to complete your destination and you must refuel with a scoop or station. With a fuel scoop you need to hover close to the star, throttle down and wait untill the galaxy map waypoint dots turn to solid and get some extra incase it's a far station at you destination. Don't get too close to the star as you will get heat damage or worse so watch your ships temperature.

Forgot to mention: Also get yourself a power plant better than E grade. An E grade power plant will cause your ship to very easily overheat when fuel-scooping, making it almost impossible. (Go for an A-grade power plant if you can afford it. It doesn't need to be as large as the size of the module slot, as long as the energy use at the bottom of the outfitting screen doesn't go to the red.)
 
Play in open and find a wingmate who knows the ropes. Tell them what you want to accomplish, what experiences you want, they will help you get there without so much frustration and wasted effort.

Yes, that's basically Elite if you do trader stuff: station, jump, jump, jump, jump, jump...., jump, station, and reverse. You can lighten that up a bit if you do exploration between the jumps and get A-grade stuff or even engineered FSDs to reduce the amount of loading screens, but basically it is what you do in this game: fly around your space ship.
Upgrading, fuel-scooping and planning your route is good advice.

Going to open is not, though. Stick in solo mode, or if you have a friend that wants to show you the ropes, do it in private groups. Nothing frustrates new-comers more than gankers killing a noob just for the lulz after he painstakingly made his first mission.
 
If you have Discord, search for Elite Dangerous groups. Most servers will have a section for new players and many will love to help.

I don't "do" discord but I used to offer help in the noob-zone with an alt account - not much use now that commanders can't start in there.

You can also install more fuel tanks just for a simplest solution

Worry more about the pros and cons later

Maybe you should adopt a home base and stick around there, get to know your neighborhood and plan your excursions. Good luck in yon opulent black

When did they remove the noob-zooe and did they give a reason?

When players started in Odyssey they are in some system outside the noob-zone - they don't get the initial commander training with the permit awarded. Since the split, even if you start in Horizons, you don't have the permit after the training / tutorial and start in one of the old two places (depending on which sidewinder you pick - SRV or not).

I don't think they did it for a reason, I think it is just another "testicles-up" by the over-concentration on FPS. I have seen absolutely no comment from FDEV about this.

(Starting in Legacy is in the noob-zone but of course that does not carry-across to the Live game.)

P.S. The zone is still there in Live, it is just full of tumbleweed now, no hollow icons in sight.
