Some basic newbie questions

Hi People,

Not had much time to play yet but in the time i have a number of questions popped up.

1. I did not attack anyone but yet, managed to be wanted in a few federal places. What causes this? (i did stack into a station at some point could that have caused it?)
2. I accepted a mission in a warzone to kill 7 fighters but when I arrived I could not tell who was good and who was bad. Who am i meant to be fighting for!?
3. Sometimes I could not slow down when approaching destinations. sometimes its fine but other times I just keep on going and the speed actually appears to be going up!. Why?
4. I got disconnected a fair few times, is that just because its BETA and work in progress?
5. Is there a good guide to working out how to get to a destination system easy? I could not get to a place in one jump but could not work out the way you should choose a good path. Any ideas?
6. In the old Elite there was a commodity computer that would tell you rough market prices elsewhere. Is there such a thing in this game?

Hey there, don't know everything but hope this helps :)

1 - You get fines for all sorts of stuff, just keep an eye out for messages about it (also look in your mission tab as it lists fines).
2 - You need to pick a side before you can join the fun, this was bugged a while back and not sure if it's fixed. But after picking the correct side for the mission you should get a lot of red targets.
3 - Gravity wells, when you fly towards a station it usually orbits a planet/moon/sun. You always need to keep an eye on your speed ;) there is a 7 second rule (lower speed untill arrival time says 7 seconds, the you wont overshoot).
4 - Beta and we all hate that ;)
5 - Basically I just click on the destination and it draws a yellow line. pick the first jump you can reach and do it all again.
6 - Never saw it in this game... yet. Nobody knows exactly what we'll see on the 22nd, lets hope a lot of this good stuff :)


I'm sure a some things will be corrected but that's the fun part of this community, we all know something and tgether we know a lot :)

It|s not obvious. You have to go into the right side panel, "functions" tab and manually select your faction. It counts only for this warzone and resets after jumping out.

Last time I was able to play it was aroundish 6 seconds for me. If you keep it at 6 seconds and slow down immediately it changes to 5, you should be OK.
