Some basic questions...

Hello everyone, I have a few questions, some probably a little stupid but I would like to ask them.
1/How to hide the paths throughout the zoo? I heard that there were several possibilities. I am listening because I have big problems, particularly in closed places, but even I find that sometimes not All these paths are very pretty, so if we can do something, I would be interested.
One of them would consist of making a floor over the entire zoo, raising the ground and then, by laying walkways, they would be at the right level (so as not to have them walk on their knees as I have already seen somewhere) can you explain all this to me?
If there is a video or posts discussing this I am interested.
How exactly to do it friends? Where can I find the videos that would explain it?

2/Second question a bit stupid I guess.
I created an enclosure in a sandbox in order to use it later in my franchise zoo.
After saving it, trying to put it in my zoo, and unlike the enclosures that you find in the workshop, I no longer had the relief, the bodies of water or even the fence, in fact in it putting it at the same height as when preparing the enclosure, everything was at the level of the grassy ground of my zoo.
How to resolve this problem and how to do as for the workshop, an enclosure ends with the entrance, the fence and all the reliefs which will remain directly?
What is strange is that in the help it is written for example that the bodies of water are preserved in the saved habitat plans, but this is not at all the case for me.

3/I would like to make certain enclosures with several animals, particularly in Africa, how many varieties should I put max and how to calculate the size of the enclosure?
Thank you...

No stupid questions here at all, ask away :)

Okay, paths! These are excellent questions.

So for paths that are on the ground, you can choose the 'natural' path and make sure 'kerbs on ground' is switched off. Your path will now be invisible (but will be highlighted when you go into the building menu, which makes them very useful for placing under floors in buildings).

You can use floor pieces in the construction tab to place on top of paths and make different flooring. If you turn the height setting down to zero you can place the floors level with the ground so that people aren't sunk up to their knees!

There is no way to make elevated paths invisible I'm afraid - we were all hoping that there would be when they announced 'null paths' in one of the more recent updates, but for some reason it didn't apply to elevated paths. This means that elevated walkways need some clever design with construction pieces and foliage to hide them well. You may have to just live with things being a bit imperfect while you get used to them.

There are LOTS of tips and tricks that make it easier to work with paths. Youtube has endless video tutorials - here are a couple of good ones for starters:

I really recommend watching some of these, you'll have a much easier time in the game when you understand how the pathing works. It actually works great when you know the details. Its something people love to complain about and yes they can be fiddly, but when you know a few tricks and how to get un-stuck they are a joy.

Definitely not stupid at all!

Sadly, terrain, water, paths and a few other things do not save in the Blueprint. So you do have to go and recreate those. It is time-consuming but you will learn from these things :)
Uh, sometimes the water is kept? I haven't tried blueprinting anything with water actually, it's all too fiddly. Best to just save what you can and start the rest from scratch. Building in this game is work but it pays off :)

Thank you...

You can use my google sheet to help you plan! I've been making it over the last few years and its got a lot of stuff in it - especially the Habitat Animals tab and the Compatibility Chart will help you see what African animals you can have living together :)

The size of the enclosure? If you go to the zoopedia and click on the biggest animal you're going to put in (eg Elephant or Giraffe) then you can click how many of that animal you plan to have, and it will tell you the size you need. But it doesn't work for mixed species. I'd say, don't worry about exact sizes - start with something big and basic and put all your animals in, then when they're all in, click on any one of them and it will tell you how much space it has vs what it needs. If it has enough space (make sure there is extra room for babies), then you can decorate and make it how you want.

Thank you for all these answers, I will look at all this and think about how I continue (or even start because I am moving slowly) my zoo.
Thank you for your sheet,
