Some commodity figures after the server-side trading patch

Here are some figures from moving some commodities around various stations. There is one detail that I don't like to see regarding the trade system:

Agriculture Station:

Tea sold for 1160 / ton
Galactic Average was 1443
(this was all the data I collected, was still figuring out what I wanted to collect)

Extraction / Refinery Station

Station showed 0 demand (low)
Price to sell was 1569
Station bought tea, demand stayed at 0.
Bought Bertrandite @ 2121 / ton (high)
Supply was 1991 tons
After purchase, supply was 1975 (supply adjusted properly)
Galactic average for Bertrandite was 2409

Refinery Station

Low demand on Bertrandite
Price to sell was 2463
Demand was 1849 before selling
After selling, demand was still 1849

Industrial / Extraction Station

(I didn't have Tea, but I recorded the Tea data to compare with the other station)
Tea showed demand of 7004 (medium)
Tea selling for 1631
Marine equipment sold for 3684
Galactic average for marine equipment was 4062
(didn't record how much was supplied or how much after)

Agriculture Station

Marine Equipment demand at 74,422 (medium)
sold for 4500 / ton
After selling, demand was still 74,422

From these figures, it seems that no matter the amount of items a station is demanding, when you sell those items, the demand figures do not change. And if they're demanding 0 items, they will still buy the item.

The one recording of buying items that were supplied did change the amount they had.

I'm afraid, right now tossing a coin is about as scientific as anything when it comes to trading.

Thx for the info nonetheless.

I know it's going to take some time for whatever changes FD made, but selling to a station and not having that station update their demand figures is concerning....

I'm pretty sure the supply side doesn't change either if you jump out of system and return it will be the same (unless they fixed it but I'm just a realist :)).

I would have thought that this was pretty basic database/spreadsheet computing, why can't they get it right? Are the online/persistent universe factors making it more difficult?

It did change. When I bought Bertrandite, the supply before purchase was 1991. The supply after was 1975. I have 16 cargo in my hauler.

I just tried it right now. I bought one Hydrogen Fuel. Supply was 974,866 before - after I purchased it was 974,865. I then sold it right back to the station (at a 4 cr loss) and the supply number went back to 974,866.

What doesn't change is the demand figures. If a station is demanding 700 tea, and I sell them 10 tea, that demand should change to 690. And if a station is demanding 0 tea, I shouldn't be able to sell it to them at all.

Yes but what I am saying is:
1) Jump to another system,
2) Return to station where you bought Bertrandite
3) Supply will be back where it was before you bought it - doesn't matter if you bought 16 or 500 to stuff a type 9

The change is just in your client, the server still has the same number.

Hm... I'll have to try that.

Of course, it's not consistent because the demand figures don't change at all, client-side or otherwise.

I bought 5 Hydrogen Fuel from an Agriculture system. The supply stock before I purchased was 974,866. After I purchased them it was 974,861.

I left the station and jumped to another system.

I jumped back to the original system, docked at the station, and the supply stock for Hydrogen Fuel said 974,861.

It was not a change just in my client. The server number for supply changed based on how much I purchased.
