Some improvement ideas

*More random NPC liveries. There is a serious lack of colour in space, surely more expensive ships would be able to afford coloured liveries, perhaps we could have another competition where the best % of deemed liveries are all included as NPC liveries, as well as in the shop.

*Military only ships. The military has it's own more advanced ships, but these are only available on loan once you are at maximum relationship, and only whilst doing specific missions for them. The ship is only available as long as the timer is running for the mission. Delaying return of the ship results in a relationship drop, and further delay (depending on your distance from the hand in point) results in a 20% of your credits fine upon landing anywhere.

*Missions symbols on galaxy map bring up mission details when hovered over

*Ejected cargo and player death outside of scenarios creates it's own signal source (degraded emissions)

*Ships sending messages flash a different colour on the scanner, one at a time (purple?)

*Allow smaller ships to do larger cargo contracts in up to three runs (increased danger of being attacked and losing the cargo)

*Shipyard stats also inform you of the ships maximum fittings (Number of hard points & placement, top unmodded speed etc.), after all these are on sale and should be presented to their full potential.
 
Not so long ago the NPCs sported many different skins that players were not able to access. Last update seems to have made them bland.
 
Hmmmm, it seems to me that players and NPC's could share their skins, it still gives us freedom to have which ever livery we like, I would love to take part in another competition where we could skin any or all of the ships with ideas, the more the better for the game
 
*Different coloured bookmarks to choose from, so you can have your own colour scheme for places to trade, home etc.

*Skimmers carry timer bombs they can attach to your ship if you let them get too close, also colliding/ramming with one sets off the bomb if they are still carrying one. The bomb is powerful and acts as a deterrent to ramming
 
I like alot of these ideas, especially loan military ships and allowing smaller ships to do cargo runs in stages. +1 rep
 
Thanks :) I should think the military ships would need fixed optimised loadouts, slightly more powerful weapons and an extra pip. They could come in several forms depending on the mission given, fighters, missile loaded gunships and plasma bombers for some suggestion. Although they would have fuel scoops if you stray too far from the objective you are deemed a deserter and will be hunted by other military ships, until you make it to a base alive and pay your fine. A large reputaton hit would come with this automatically barring you from military missions until you have rebuilt your relationship.
