Some Jurassic World Evolution Positivity

Ok, so we saw in the last days and weeks a lot of complaints. People are criticiziging the game for various reasons, some more reasonable than others. This is perfectly fine, a game must have some criticism, so the devs can improve their work. I also have some issues, like the invincible vehicles, but most of the complaints i saw are made by people who care about the game and want it to be as good as possible. Not to mention that the game will still receive patches and updates after release that will improve the game thanks to some of these suggestions. But i'm not here to talk about those things.
I want to focus more an all the great things we already saw in trailers and interviews, that i hope will bring some positivity in the community.

1) The Dinosaurs. Of course they are the main attraction of the park, and they all look gorgeous. The animations, the sounds and the models all look incredibly detailed and alive. You can have 42 different species of dinos (including the 5 from the deluxe edition but exluding every future DLC). But even better, you can modify their DNA, making them more agressive, stronger and of course giving them different skin colors.
2) The graphics and the sound design are simply top notch. A lot of care was obviously put into them.
3) The Park itself. Most people complain about lack of decorations in the park. While i do belive that the trailers were lacking in decorations, i also belive that there will be at least something that hasn't been shown yet. But let's put this game against Operation Genesis. That game had 1 shop, 1 restaurant and the bathrooms. That's pretty much it. In Evolution we have 3 different restaurants, 3 different shops, the hotels, the bowling alleys, the fossil zones and more. There is also something that most people seem to never notice in comparison to OG: the roads. We now have CURVED roads and CURVED fences! Am i the only one who think that this is a major improvement in terms of aesthetic?
4) We still haven't seen most features. Ok, this can be scary for someone, but we still have much to learn from the game. How does the weather work? How far can we go with the park managment? Are there still some other mechanics that we don't know? What happens on Isla Nublar? These are some major parts of the game, and nothing has been said about it. It can turn out great just like it can turn out bad, but since this is a positive thread let's go with the first one.

I'm not criticizing the people who criticize the game. As i said, what they're doing is mostly fine and helpful, but i just think we needed some more positivity.
And what are your favourite things about the game?

I'm front of the queue for JP Evolution. The variety of species, the fossil hunting screen, the missions, the park buildings designs, the fence building system and as you say the sound are all really exciting to me. And on top of that - apparently - dinosaurs! I can't wait.

A lot of the criticism wasn't even needed. What made it bad was when people (on Reddit) started whining incessantly and raging over it like spoiled brats. I didn't see a lot of it here but there were a few. But it was no where near as bad as the garbage I saw on Reddit. Matter of fact I started to avoid the place. I got sick of seeing some thread with someone raging on like a moron about the Spinosaurus roar or the AI. These kind of threads/topics were basically spammed on the JWE sub Reddit. A lot of it was unnecessary. It got so bad that FD had to pull Bo from whatever she was doing to make statements about it to get people to stop acting like childish fools.

Criticism is great, if it's done right and it is constructive. But what was going on just a few days ago was horrible and shameful. Especially since the Spinosaurus roar was a non issue and the sound work on the Rex IGN video proved this and the AI was already being worked on/improved long before people started raging over it on Reddit. So like I said most of the criticism was needless.

The fact every island looks different and each brings a challenge. I'm really excited to take on Isla Pena. At first I didn't like the missing day/night cycle, but now I can see why they choose to leave it out. Another thing is the deep trees. Imagine having a Dilophosaurus log hiding in the thick jungles and stalking prey during a storm. How cool is that!! It's the little cool details like the deep trees that we should be thankful for. I could go on and on...

I believe I saw somewhere on Reddit that the day and night cycle was being looked into. I could be wrong.

Wow - I find it hard to believe that Reddit has been more negative than here - this place has been bad enough. Not sure what people get from all the catastrophising - the game footage so far is obviously targeted at selling the game to the masses, so I can understand if they don't have 10 minute videos 'how we added trashcans to Jurassic World Evolution' (plenty of time for that after launch ;)

Looking forward to this game - wonder if they'll do launch day streaming like with their other games? I'd watch to see Ed & Bo being chased by raptors in their indestructible jeep :D

Reddit was terrible. This place was mild compared to the insufferable whining, complaining and even raging that happened on there.

It's not at the moment; that was a case of someone misreading the reddit comment order and thinking I had responded to that statement rather than the main OP :) every island has its own settings.

As for the rest of the thread: sooo lovely to see you being excited for the game! I honestly can't wait to see people play it and hear their initial reactions. Really nerve-wrecking too!
Wish the devs all the best in these final weeks!

I think that despite some criticisms people are very excited about the game and are looking forward to getting into a cryogenic camera to sleep until the 12th.

Of course the game seems to have a very high quality and is made with love. There is no better company than Frontier to be able to make this game due to its experience in management games. With the tutelage of Universal, he has been able to create perfect dinosaurs.

No game is perfect but as we know that Frontier will continue to update and improve the game for a long time after the release I'm sure it will be the best game in the Jurassic Park saga of all time. It will be almost impossible to overcome it. For my part I am very calm. I know that the quality of the product will be very high. The only problem I see is that there are still 25 days left ...

Pleaaaaaseeee reconsider the day/night cycle. Or consider giving us the option to turn it on after the campaign is finished? It's such a huge loss to some fans.

Some more positivity from me. :)
I'm just excited and cannot wait to play this game.
Nothing that I've seen so far made me doubt that I wouldn't love this game.
Not even, the animation transitions and the hunting animations that was so much whining about.
I only said that I agreed that they should be looked at and should be improved but when we saw the later gameplay you could clearly see that it was already improved upon and I got the feeling that they were fixing it, I never understood why suddenly there was this negativity.
I just wish it is already June 12th. [heart]

It omis why Bo has been much more active in the community. Reddit has turned into a civil war every time some new info is released.

Gorgeous dinosaurs.
First-rate voice acting.
An actual story line.
Not one, but six(!) islands.
FREE Fallen Kingdom DLC.
HUGE number of dinosaur genera.
Far more variety and depth in the gameplay than JPOG had.

Perhaps best of all, the team at Frontier seemed to have had a really good time making this game. It shows in their videos. They have a lot of passion for this game and seem (justifiably) proud of their work. This seems to be a true labor of love.

I was sucked right into preordering by the positivity but man let me tell you the violence thing is a huge almost deal breaking issue even though it's only the first negative thing I've heard so far. I won't cancel my preorder because I love this franchise but if I weren't a hardcore fan or supporter, I definitely would wait for reviews to come out.

They damn well better have a compelling, story-driven reason for the lack of violence because I expect this game to deliver me exactly this:
  1. Pure science contracts only
  2. Consequences
  3. Chaos
If they can manage to make it chaotic without the violence, fine. I might be satisfied then.

Talking about positivity, after the Cory reveal and all the other news, the community seem to be really pleased!

There is tons of positive news. I am still baffled at the complaints that people are having now. I think the best thing is to be positive and happy that we're getting another jp game.
