Splash Screen: Every demo/game I play....the vast majority with splash screens have the splash screen locked in place in virtual space, the ones with the Splash Screen locked to the headset...those can cause nausea, not as bad as some but it is there. I would highly recommend a custom splash screen for VR, possibly similar to how Virtual Desktop has users floating in space as they use their computer. Have the Splash Screen hover in virtual space so we can look around, maybe have users floating in some sick looking artwork. Then we have no nausea, and get excited even at splash screens. It is small but VR is so new, ANYTHING that causes discomfort will turn new people off from the beginning.
Next, not usre if this is my system, a bug or what, sometimes the game will minimize on its own then in 2 seconds come back up....but when I use Voice Attack, before the commands are working, when game comes back it is as if the keyboard commands are not connected and I have to manually collapse the client and reopen to get it working again.
I seem to experience lag inside the stations but smooth in space, I know there is more going on in station visually but I have the latest greatest video card...this should not be happening. Some objects tear as well on rare occasions. Not the card, no issues and again some game times it happens, others not.
That said, I think E
was a blessing for the Rift to be the first game out to fully support it. I would see if Oculus would want to use E
as a packed in game or have a demo game at the ready. Everybody I pu tin E
in the Rift all gawk and can't believe the experience. And that is the PROTOTYPE!!!
