Some of the newer classic ships maybe?

I was wondering if FD is going to implement any of the ships that appeared in FFE?
(Yep, my sig sells my opinion out as a biased one but hey!)

Look, we already have some really old ship disigns like python, cobra, sidey, asp, that survived for quite long.(And i'm quite happy to see those guys)
But we probably should also have some of the 'later classic' ones. It doesnt quite add up how the newer ships could become obsolate sooner then the old ones.

Here:
Python - 2700
ASP (the mk2) - 2878
Anaconda - 2856
Sidewinder - 2982
Cobra mk3 - 3100
and so on..

Eagle (mk2 & mk3) - 3199 It is 99yrs younger then all of the above and it is already considered obsolate! (No longer produced by core dynamics as per its ingame description.)

So, where are some of later ones, like:
Gyr - 3234
Harris - 3237 (lower your landing gear before entering the mailslot.)
Harrier - 3231
Wyveren - 3237
Osprey - 3250 (50 years, and they are gone completely.)
Skeet - 3228 (the centerpiece should be rotating for artifical gravity. Could be an awesome redesign.)
Spar - 3247
And more.

We do have some new ships already, and we should probably have even more of new designs, but the ships that are between old and new ones are missing almost completely (except one - the Viper mk2(3248), which is good). Python is 600yrs old and the Cobra mk3 is 200. Harris is 63. Osprey is 50 and Osprey X is even younger.

So, I have a suggestion here - maybe pick some of these fairly recent ships that fit into current inter-ship gaps?

Dude I'm like a broken record when it comes to ships. Think we need all of the above- and more. The target of 30 ships is great and I can't wait for that. I'm hopeful that if the game continues to be popular then more ships can continue to be added over time.

Can you only use the Spar between 7am and 10pm.
Any crew on the spar must work 15hour shifts without a break and be paid a minimal wage.

Very few of the newer ships from F:E2 and FFE really floated my boat tbh. I entirely get the idea though of favouring newer designs over ships that are older than the venerable Cobra Mk III.

Still of the classic ships, the Boa and Boa 2 Class Cruiser are newer models than the Cobra MkIII and I'd like to see those in game as a trader/multi somewhere in size between the Python and Anaconda.

The Mamba is a newer vessel than the Sidewinder and there is potential for another combat craft between the Eagle and the Viper in cost, perhaps as manoeuvrable as the Eagle, but more lightly armoured than the Viper. I'm also a big fan of the Iguana as a design, which could in theory be a heavier hitting version of the Viper, but lacking the Cobra's multi-role capability.

I'd still prioritise seeing the Wolf MkII as a new ship for the Alliance.

Also, keeping the ship designs as being clearly inspired by original Elite /F:E2/FFE vessels is a big part of giving this game its own identity. There are a lot of space based games out there now which use decidedly more modern designs and if ED goes down that route, it really won't look that much different from any other games out there. The current release of Oolite with Griff's ships as the core shipset, really shows how good those designs can look with a little modernisation and creativity.

The lack of a single new ship in 1.1 doesn't make me all that optimistic about them actually giving us the ships they promised. The really cynical part of me expects them to hold them back for paid DLC packs.
