Some points to care about!

That review of RCT3 is in my opinion terrible, clearly RCT3 was the best game of the three! And, did you notice that he disabled the comments? Clearly he knew how people would point out how wrong he was. He had 1700 likes and 1572 dislikes, so that goes to show how many disagreed with what he said, unfortunately we will never know why there are so many dislikes since nobody could post a comment.

Because he was constantly criticizing everything like that about RCT3, I have one word of advice for him - Since you are so negative, stay away from Planet Coaster because I don't want to see you.

RCT3 wasn't "clearly" the best of anything at all. That is your opinion.

I remember exactly how I felt about all three (I was 24 when RCT1 game out) and the first two games were joyous. Something that wasn't the case with number 3. I never loved that game and, unfortunately for me, was past the point of no return to really enjoy the amazing mods and enhancements that have happened in the meantime; not through want of trying, I might add. (I've have had it on various computers many, many times over the years). Don't get me wrong, I never thought it was a bad game, but it didn't have that "magic", for me at least anyway.

The uploader made many points I tended to agree with, although he was a little over zealous with his delivery. I'm sure many people (and probably folks of a certain age) also felt like that too.

1700 likes vs 1572 dislikes doesn't just show the number of people who disagreed with him, does it?

You sound a little bit like that lot on the RCTW forums with that last statement. Criticism isn't a bad thing if someone believes it to be deserved. Take exception, and argue your points, sure. But be fair and understand opinions vary greatly.

As I said,"That review of RCT3 is in my opinion terrible, clearly RCT3 was the best game of the three!" The reason it was the best to me was because of the vast amount of custom items that were able to be added to the game (even though it was not officially supported) and the fact that it broke ground with the 3 dimensions. I hardly played the scenerios, usually I either played the Sandbox mode or made custom scenerios, so RCT1 & 2 to me fell short.

Granted it was limited by poly count, but at the time I guess it couldn't be helped to a great extent.

WOOWOO grammar police WOOWOO threads like this are so fun arent they?

@Parkmaker - your opinion was that the REVIEW was bad... but you stated RCT3 is clearly the best (you stated that as fact, which it is not). Point goes to FuddyWoodie.

Both games have there benefits and weakness, RCT1 had great campaign levels that were worth playing through despite the "improvements" in RCT3, and RCT1 holds nostalgia as evident by the video we are all discussing. You clearly don't have that nostalgia factor. Super Mario Maker might be way cooler than the originals, but that doesn't discredit the originals as being inferior.

I say add some nostalgia to PC and a good ol' tip of the hat to the original RCT by bringing in some classic RCT effects. I liked how people were able to create custom scenarios in RCT3 that matched the original and I hope we can see that happen again in PC.

To each his own. [big grin] But I think (I hope) we all agree that Planet Coaster is now the best of all.

No game is perfect and Nostalgia always makes things look better than they were. Every past game we can come up with points that were great, good, not so good, and bad. What we hope is the enjoyable aspects far outweigh the parts we were unhappy with.

And after sticking forks in my eyes I did finish his review.

And in a 30 minute spew of totally silly and pointless complaints he did have a couple of things that were flaws with RCT3 but many complaints were not with the game but with the technology of the time. And the current technology could not be helped. 20 years from now people will look back on planet Coaster and wonder how we could play something that looks like cave paintings. Amazingly he didn't mention any of the real flaws the game had. He also praised RCT1 way to much. As great as it was it wasn't a perfect example of a game with zero flaws.

This "Review" was just a sad attempt to be humorous, drive traffic, and make money with the tired old hate everything review.

Let's see if you're right in half a year [squeeeeee]

Never say never but what those guys call alpha 1 is considered finished games by EA... ;)

But honest now. It has been a while and frontier will make sure that old problems will be terminated in the new game. With RCTW alpha being an absolute failure, according to the community, I doubt that there won't be enough support for planet coaster to fail the project. Especially with a development team that listens to the people like nobody does... except of prison architect... maybe.

Just like his previous video, most of this is purple prose that goes on for far too long and is pseudo-intellectual at best. I have no problem with some of his arguments, the ideas concerning progression are certainly valid, but he is so boring and self-reflective that it is painful to finish.

As a side-note concerning grammar and the production of opinions, when I am at an academic conference, giving a paper, I don't feel it necessary to continuingly insert 'in my opinion', 'I think' and 'I conjecture'. While I certainly do when it is a very controversial point, I regard my audience's intelligence sufficient enough to know that I am making an argument, which is inevitably laden with opinion. The very idea that I would have to continuingly remind them is a non-issue.

No offense intended, and I hope none taken, but I am not an Academic with extensive college (Never went). I am a simple High School Graduate who happens to be a Viet Nam Vet that never had to deliver a paper, so I would not know about that. When I post on a forum or make a comment on a video I don't know the accademic achievements of the people that read them and to me it helps to let them know.

No offence taken at all. That comment was actually intended for creaper, not yourself. In fact, I was defending your mode of argumentation. As a side-note, and if you don't mind we should leave this to PM, but where did you serve in Nam if I may enquire? I specifically study ancient warfare and conflict, but I am always interested in those who have served. Of course, such enquiry is purely personal and not intended to be academic by its nature, I would need an ethics form for such a thing. Regards, R.
