Newcomer / Intro Some shield regeneration questions:

When facing different enemies, it's good to know how your own equipment works. One piece of information I couldn't find anywhere is: How long does it take for a shield to start recharging after it takes damage? It should be a few seconds, but how many exactly? That's my main question here.

P.S.:
  • Do the shield type or size affect the delay?
  • When your Shield Cell Bank spools up and starts filling the shield up, how does it work with natural shield recharge? Do the regenerations stack or does the SCB pause natural regen? Does it skip the delay, does it cause the delay or the natural delay completely ignores the SCB?

This might be wrong but from my experience this is what I believe:

Shields will start recharging when not hit by weapons for 15 seconds and there is available energy in the SYS capacitor. This is independent of shield type or size.

SCB recharging is so fast that normal shield recharge is irrelevant during that time.
