Hello everyone. I decided to make an account to share some of my shop and ride ideas that I'd like to see in future updates of Planet Coaster.
Shops
Popcorn Shop - Sells popcorn, of course. Types include Popcorn, Caramel Popcorn and White Cheddar Popcorn. Options include Melted Butter and Salt. A cheap snack, popular with all types of guests.
Cotton Candy Shop - Sells Cotton Candy. Types include Bubblegum Flavor, Berry Flavor, and possibly others. A cheap snack, very popular with kids, but virtually no appeal for adults and teens.
Sandwich Shop - Sells Sub Sandwiches. Types include 6-Inch Sandwich , Foot Long Sandwich and Roll. There would be quite a lot of options, including Ham, Turkey, Roast Beef, Steak Strips, Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Olives, Hot Peppers, Pickles, Onions, Mayonnaise and Sandwich Dressing. An expensive meal, that costs A LOT to stock the ingredients for, but is exceptionally popular with all types of guests.
Chinese Food Shop - Sells various kinds of Chinese food. Types include Dumplings, Egg Roll, White Rice, Fried Rice and possibly other things as well. There would be a lot of variety in the options for each menu item. As with the Sandwich Shop, it would be expensive to upkeep, but can turn a big profit with the right menu items as it is very popular with all types of guests.
Salad Shop - Sells Salad. Types include Small Salad and Large Salad. Options include Chicken, Tomatoes, Carrots, Croutons and Salad Dressing (just one type, to keep it simple). Cheap and is moderately popular among all types of guests, but does best in hot climates.
Soup Shop - Sells hot Soup. Types include Cup of Chicken Soup, Cup of Beef Soup, and Cup of Vegetable Soup. Options include Noodles, Beans, Rice, Carrots, Celery and Potatoes. Popular with all groups of people and very cheap as long as you don't pick a ton of optional ingredients, but it only has appeal in colder climates.
Tea Shop - Sells Tea. Types include Hot Tea, Iced Tea and Sweet Tea. Options are pretty much limited to Ice. An ordinary drink stall, mostly popular with adults.
Carnival Games - Now for something completely different! These Carnival Games stalls would get their own category and there would be several different ones. Things like the Dart Throw, Basketball, Ring Toss, Water Guns and the Strength Test could all make an appearance. The way they would work is that a guest would pay to take an attempt at the game. If they fail, they walk away empty handed. If they win, they take a prize, which you have to pay for. You could adjust your guests' chances at winning either Small, Medium or Large prizes (yes, you're gonna be rigging these nasty carnie games against people), and of course, each time they win, you lose money based on what size of prize they won. If you set their chances to be too low, word will spread that it must be rigged (it is) and people will stop playing them, but if their chances are too high... well, you'll go bankrupt in no time
Rides
Go Karts - Self explanatory. You get to custom build a track and let guests race each other in little Go Karts.
Observation Tower - A slow ascent to the top of the tower, where guests can calmly view the entire park.
3D Movie Theater - Plays 3D movies for guests to watch.
Boat Rentals - Lets guests rent a boat to row around in for a while.
Water Rides - Like, seriously. Any kind of new water rides would be fantastic.
Hedge Maze - Customizable hedge mazes for guests to wander through. Could end up really cool with the tools available in PC.
Bumper Boats - Like bumper cars but... boats.
Fun House - Customizable Fun Houses, where you can select a variety of themed rooms (mirror maze, spinning rooms, etc) for guests to walk through.
Arcade - Customizable Arcade rooms. You set floor space down as a base for the attraction, and then you must buy Arcade Cabinets to stick into the Arcade Room. They function similar to shops, in that people will approach the arcade cabinets for a moment, pay a little money and then walk away. Some arcade games are just money sinks and offer nothing to the players but the fun of playing them, but others that you can buy can earn them Tickets which can be spent in the Ticket Exchange Counter part of the Arcade for prizes, similar to the Carnival Games. Again, you'll be rigging these ticket games against the player by adjusting a Difficulty value (non-ticket games can also be rigged in such a manner) to keep them from winning too much. As for the games themselves, you could just make them knockoffs of popular arcade games like uh... Park Man, Space Invasions, Street Brawler and Immortal Combatants. For Arcade games that are just the cabinet, they'd all pretty much be the same, with a lit-up screen that you can't even see the game on. But there would be others like Skeeball or racing games with car cabinets that are more unique looking. Different games would cost different amounts of money to buy, and the more expensive ones tend to be more popular. Of course, there would be certain demographics for certain kinds of games as well.
Anyway, what do you guys think about my ideas?
