Some Suggestions

Hello there,
Hope the game Devs. are reading what we write here.
As someone who plays computer games for around 28 as of now, I started playing Elite Dangerous a while ago, which is not that long (Started with Odyssey).
Some things that I noticed are pretty notable, which I don't question at all. Like the game is developed for a solo player, then switched to support multiple players as it seems, which is totally fine.
Yet, there are things that need to be improved and thought about as soon as possible from what I see. I anyone who reads this post thinks the same, please bump the thread and leave a comment, so we can have our voices heard.

Here are the biggest things missing that are already late here:

Content for Odyssey
- You promote that you can move on planets, get down, and such, but it's actually pretty limited. You can do conflict zones, go scanning on foot on planets, or run regular settlements (including their missions). The big problem here is that you are promoting Thargoids nonstop, yet there is literally no content for Odyssey. You can fight them in a ship, or go with a scarab to their sites if you can find them. Yes, you can get off your scarab while there, yet for what end? No drops, no content, no objectives, nothing... Just for looking there...

Trading between players
- If I can gain money from any activity, should be able to buy whatever was dropped by others with it as well. That's the logic behind the economy, you trade. Right now, do you want to upgrade your armor? Go Grind. Want engineering materials? Go grind.
-If I have enough money, should be able to buy it from a player for whatever cost they deem enough.

Item Storage
  • Currently, there is no inventory storage anywhere. Items for ships are stored there, and not able to be left in stations for further picking up (with bigger cargo for example)
  • Scarab materials are held completely separately, which ships can't even drop from their cargo and such.
  • On-foot inventory is totally the same problem.
  • Right now, unless you are in a ship, there is no point in a player engaging in any kind of with another player. Yet if you would make people drop items at the station, they would have their stash in the stations, safe, open for trade as well. You can also make it possible to drop what they are currently carrying dropable, so each trip would be worth it.

Base Phasing
- Ground bases seem like they are always there, but actually phasing once you get in there. If you are playing with someone, he gets disconnected and comes back, you can literally see that you are not in the same location. I get that you don't want player vs player action that often, yet you can change it such that if the player is solo, he gets in a phased-in version.

The map in this game is huge, so at least people should be able to get to the same site. What people are doing is, doing a site (or even a ground conflict), warping out, then warping back in to reset the site. This seriously kills the immersion of the game.

For ground conflict zones, as many, as you win or lose, the bar for winning/losing doesn't seem to change and seems to change at the end of the day. This makes it look like it's still in the beta phase, just there for you fighting with nothing to gain or lose but money.

Might be thinking wrong in some of them, and your initial idea could've been for a single-player game (which explains each site respawning when you phase back-in), but it's way bigger than that right now.

Hope this post gets read...
