Hardware & Technical Some Z97 Motherboard Details

With the launch of the Z97 Chipset based Motherboard due on May 11th (and Devil Canyon CPU's due on June 2nd) details of the new motherboards are beginning to emerge.

I love ASUS boards but I want to see some details on X99 boards before I make a decision whether or not to got Haswell-E or Devils Canyon.

To be honest, not an awful lot.

  • More USB 3.0 Ports
  • More SATA 6G ports
  • Support for Devils Canyon CPU.
  • Support for solid-state drives in PCIe M.2 form-factor
  • Intel device protection with boot guard technology
  • Intel Rapid Storage technology with support for PCI Express-based storage drives

Depending on the MB Vendor there are rumours of SATA Express, if not at launch maybe early next year.
