Someone @ Frontier: Please restart the servers :)

I'm sure, if anyone @ Frontier has been reading these forums, they have seen the multitude of posts complaining about latency issues and server errors. I'm not a computer expert in anyway, but I do play a few online games (and yes, I can stop whenever I want to ;-) ). That said, when most games run into this problem the servers are taken down for a short period of time and the problems usually resolve. Please don't wait another 7 hours. I am sure I am not alone in saying we would rather lose an hour now that have the game be unplayable for the next 7.

Thank you.

Hopefully they have somebody on-call on New Year's Day and have noticed. It is nearly midnight, and it's a public holiday in the UK, so I wouldn't count on it.

Time for someone at FD to man up then, public holidays are the busiest times of year as people are online playing and not going to work the next day. I love what this game may become but this really is amateur hour (again)

From what I have seen it looks like they have been restarting them every day at around 3:00pm(give or take a few hours) my time, which is 8:00am CST, I believe.

You would think that at least someone is on-call! LoL. Let's see, servers crapped out an hour and a half ago, couple thousand thickets by now ( YOU did put in a ticket, right?) alarm goes to call out, they start to sober up and get a cab into work, so about another hour or so for the servers to reset. I would stop playing now. ;)

why would they need someone to physically go to the servers? you don't need to go to the servers to control the servers. Everything should be done remotely. That's the point of having a server farm from amazon.

I'm sure they are working on it. But before willy-nilly pulling the servers, they run some diagnostics to identify the problem so that as they all get back to work tomorrow (holiday is over, yay - I mean, crap!) they can get to work providing a fix or set up contingencies with their server provider so it do not happen again.

As have been mentioned, server admins have by all probability been alerted, and are currently remoted into the system. Soon enough we'll see a restart. Though some kind of community-alert would be nice. Like a post here on the forum or twitter or whatnot explaining the problem, what is being done and when it is estimated service should return to normal.

This used to happen in EVE all the time. They'll go and correctly punctuate something they were lazy with and restart it and it'll be fine... And I'll see your New Years' Day and raise you a Job Requirements, and I'll throw in a Gradually More Hysteric Forum Hivemind.

Results soon to follow.
