I've always thought they should spread people out a bit more, maybe even let starting players pick a power which then makes them spawn in that powers territory. Would probably get an even spread of players picking different powers than just Fed and Imp and it could be more immersive.
with horizons there also come new alternative starter positions.

The lag is what happens when someone in the instance has a bad connection, you'd think it would just drop the bad connection person, but it doesn't, so lag becomes insane. I'm guessing it doesn't because it actually is trying to improve the issue, for example it only exists in super cruise to my knowledge.Thank you for your co-operation in this time of great importance.. Lol
I'm just glad to hear that there's so many noobs that the starter systems are lagging. Ahhh, some fresh life blood for the game!
We'll all be fine though! Once they un-dock, they'll never be able to figure out how to re-dock! [haha] They'll be left drifting out in space! Cold and alone, at 25fps. XDThe lag in the starter systems is entirely intentional. After all we don't want the CoD lot stumbling in here just because a few quid's been knocked off the price, now do we?! They'll take a peek, say 'that's barely 30fps' and do one. As planned. I mean, what's the alternative? Allowing in a marauding, sweaty mob who don't know a limpet from a Coriolis! Heavens, no. FDev, take note, please don't remedy this situation. It'll only end up worse in the long run, mark my words.
I sat outside of Trevithick Dock in my iCourier, watching all the brand-spanking new sidewinders float around. It was honestly kind of cute watching them slowly bump into the stations, signs, each other, and myself. Like watching a baby horse take its first steps. So now that's just what I see Sidewinders as. Baby spaceships. Clumsily learning how to fly and gently bumping into the only solid object for hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of kilometers.

It's even more cute to sit outside a station to watch the baby pilots bumps slowly into things in their first few outings in a shieldless Cutter [yesnod]
