Someone stole my landing pad!

So I decided to try out the new community goals and did some prosperous bounty hunting. I got a good amount and started to head back to Campbell Horizons. I flew up to the station like normal, reserved a docking pad, and then the unthinkable happened. I head over to find some NPC sitting his piece of junk on MY landing pad! He didn't move either! Did the authorities blast him? NOPE! As a matter of fact, they warned me not to bump him again for trying to park in my own space! So instead of enjoying a nice stay inside, watching some Spaceflix and ordering room service, I get to spend the night in the ship eating rations again, wondering why I didn't take that social media desk job for Aisling Duval. No reward is worth this!

I hear that the workaround is to drop mines on them.
From what I understand that's why we have such a fine contingent of pilots dropping mines near your pads.
Public service I think they called it.

Happened to me today, also at Campbell Horizons. Found a T-6 in my assigned slot. It wasn't an NPC though.

So I canceled docking, but did it within the station. Had to bug out quick before they destroyed me, and cost me 500 CR for the trespassing fine.

Your Vulture has better shields... should have scraped him off the pad! Give him a lil push. And if all else fails... open a can a whup you know what!

In all seriousness, this is a bug that started happening with version 2.3 (maybe earlier?). It happens pretty much any time there is a long lived station instance, which is very common at Community Goal systems.

To work around it remember the pad number, fly outside the station, cancel docking and request it again. Repeat until you get a different pad number, and hope that that pad will be free.

Another option is to switch to solo mode, as you will always get a fresh instance with no frozen NPCs.
