Someone told me T9 can have over 500 T cargo. What am I missing?

I can only have 400. I got rid of my shields and fuel scoop but still it's at 400 max

EDIT: Thanks guys. I thought slot1 and slot2 were the same one, so I was only checking slot2 (max 128). Found out that Slot1 had 256 in max.

Are you quite certain you've bought the largest cargo hold available? You can't find those at every station ,so might have to look around a little bit.

(Was pleasantly surprised myself when I found I could Upgrade my 64 tonne cargo hold to a 128 'tonne one)

Didn't upgrade the one-class-down racks it came with?

I.e., if you buy a ship that comes with a cargo rack in a Class 6 slot, the rack it comes with will be Class 5. The C6 will be twice as large.

Yup. And use the "Swap" function to move them down (e.g. moving a 5 in a 6 slot down to a 5 slot) if you have to, rather than buying/selling. It's a lot faster!

I really don't know if I could hold myself back seeing a type-9 unshielded, in lonely backwoods space... That would probably cause a jekyl/hyde moment.

inb4 hey frontier, sold my shields and crashed with 500t of palladium and lost the lot, fix your stupid game :)

running a type 9 without shields is an expensive business, 1% hull damage will cost you 16k, 20% will cost you half a mill.

Aye. I tried one for a night and was glad nothing tried to interdict me. Only had a sub-1% scrape once on the letterbox. Still cost a few k Hehe.

I ran my own t9 at 480. Aside from cargo, a D5 shield, A2 batteries and an A4 scoop.

Safe-ish, but still, despite the cargo space, unquestionably my least favorite ship. The anaconda is much better to trade in.

You're missing the cargo racks themselves perhaps?

Apropos T9, payload and shields: once we harden our T9s to be more deterrent, to sustain in open mode, the jump rate goes from painful 12.X LY towards 11 LY. That's when the route becomes circuitous and time/jump count curve becomes a hockey stick graph. Or destinations become unreachable, at all or with arguable expenditure. The (reasonable) low turn rate alone makes routes time-consuming. Atm multi-purpose ships tend to beat cargo classes in their own game.

Any chance we'll see something like class-7 FSDs? Or a flatter jump range / total mass curve for decided cargo vessels? Pretty please? I'll buy a metallic skin for my cargo giant right when available, I promise! ^.^
