Did you leave the coffee maker running? They can get warm.
On the Phantom the coffee maker has been sacrificed for strict mass optimization, just like any unnecessary wiring fairing. XD

They are useful for low-engineering builds that aren't very reliant on heat mechanics, like trade ships with undersized powerplants,Susanna brings up a good point, who uses Guardian PPs (and for what purpose)?
Are you running the double engineered frame shift drive from the CG reward?can be it's nothing but...
i fly that thing for 8 weeks with little breaks, and since a few days my fuel is often empty and i regularly overheat during the usual sun-scoop-flybys.
can be me, but the ship feels different, like it gains heat quicker and scoops slower
i got a 3A scoop and a guardian 5A plant.
can any other phantom pilot tell me that everything is normal?
YupHi,
I don't know nothing about "double engineered fsd from CG" is that really a thing?
must have been during my break, if it's real I'm jealous now.
That's the reason. I have two Phantoms one for exploring the other for Combat,I use Guardian PPs on all of my ships, scooping wise they don't ever go beyond 60% ( and only if I'm careless otherwise they stay cooler than that) no heating problems at all...provided you don't use that puny Fuel Scoop.i got a 3A scoop
Absolutely not necessary,Guardian PP is not the problem...I'd def ditch your Guardian PP and go for a normal one with low emissions thermal spread one
To speed up travel you want to be scooping while engaging your FSD...try this with a Guardian PP and watch your ship cookAbsolutely not necessary,Guardian PP is not the problem...
I don't use masochistic practices whn i Explore sorry, while I scoop I honk and scooping is so fast that I don't see the need to do something stupid like what you proposedTo speed up travel you want to be scooping while engaging your FSD...try this with a Guardian PP and watch your ship cook![]()
lol. It's only masochistic if you run a hot buildI don't use masochistic practices whn i Explore sorry, while I scoop I honk and scooping is so fast that I don't see the need to do something stupid like what you proposed![]()
You don't get it sorry, gaining 1/10th of a second per jump does not make any difference to me,sub optimal answers instead annoy melol. It's only masochistic if you run a hot build
You can save 10%+ travel time doing this. My explorers are all built with low emission thermal spread PP and Clean Drives with thermal spread.
This not only allows you to scoop and engage the FSD without your ship cooking in 2 seconds, but also aids heat buildup in other places as well. Using a Guardian PP on an explorer is sub optimal....do they "work", yes of course...can the build be way better, definitely!![]()
Sorry, disagree. 3a scoop won't overheat a good specced ship. You don't get it sorry, gaining 1/10th of a second per jump does not make any difference to me,sub optimal answers instead annoy me
And going back to the thread's topic he overheats because of the puny 3A Fuel Scoop, not because the Guardian PP.
Oh good Jesus ...have mercy...Sorry, disagree. 3a scoop won't overheat a good specced ship.
Is a 3a scoop optimal for an explorer, definitely not, is this cause of your ship over heating, no.
It saves way more than 0.1s
Even with a 6a scoop you can jump multiple stars that are not scoopable, when you finally land on one that is you still have to scoop for a little while to refill 1/2 a tank. Technically you're saving the amount of time the FSD takes to chargeIt all adds up when travelling long distances.
You're forgivenOh good Jesus ...have mercy...![]()
Thanks!You're forgiven![]()
