Something different about the Krait Phantom? (Heat/Scoop)

can be it's nothing but...

i fly that thing for 8 weeks with little breaks, and since a few days my fuel is often empty and i regularly overheat during the usual sun-scoop-flybys.

can be me, but the ship feels different, like it gains heat quicker and scoops slower
i got a 3A scoop and a guardian 5A plant.

can any other phantom pilot tell me that everything is normal?
Are you running the double engineered frame shift drive from the CG reward?
I noticed an increased heat build up while engaging the FSD after equipping this and I'm running a cold build...low emissions, clean drive etc build.

Hi,
I don't know nothing about "double engineered fsd from CG" is that really a thing?
must have been during my break, if it's real I'm jealous now.

as for why the guardian pp and the small scoop: this is a mission runner, 50ly range, 72 cargo, 590 boost. srv for planetary, 2x large shock cannons and some shields to harass pirates up to dangerous conda (if it's alone)

plan was to use the guardian pp a size smaller to save weight without using Mats.

I totally like the build, but lately, without changing something, it feels different... like I said. can be my imagenation.

Yup :D
I think it was Novemberish time as a reward for a CG.
Long range + Fast charge. Added an extra 5ly to an explorer Phantom, but did have slightly more heat build up though.

I'd def ditch your Guardian PP and go for a normal one with low emissions thermal spread one :)

i got a 3A scoop
That's the reason. I have two Phantoms one for exploring the other for Combat,I use Guardian PPs on all of my ships, scooping wise they don't ever go beyond 60% ( and only if I'm careless otherwise they stay cooler than that) no heating problems at all...provided you don't use that puny Fuel Scoop.

To speed up travel you want to be scooping while engaging your FSD...try this with a Guardian PP and watch your ship cook ;)
I don't use masochistic practices whn i Explore sorry, while I scoop I honk and scooping is so fast that I don't see the need to do something stupid like what you proposed ;)

lol. It's only masochistic if you run a hot build :D
You can save 10%+ travel time doing this. My explorers are all built with low emission thermal spread PP and Clean Drives with thermal spread.
This not only allows you to scoop and engage the FSD without your ship cooking in 2 seconds, but also aids heat buildup in other places as well. Using a Guardian PP on an explorer is sub optimal....do they "work", yes of course...can the build be way better, definitely! ;)

You don't get it sorry, gaining 1/10th of a second per jump does not make any difference to me,sub optimal answers instead annoy me ;)
And going back to the thread's topic he overheats because of the puny 3A Fuel Scoop, not because the Guardian PP.

Sorry, disagree. 3a scoop won't overheat a good specced ship.
Is a 3a scoop optimal for an explorer, definitely not, is this cause of your ship over heating, no.

It saves way more than 0.1s :D
Even with a 6a scoop you can jump multiple stars that are not scoopable, when you finally land on one that is you still have to scoop for a little while to refill 1/2 a tank. Technically you're saving the amount of time the FSD takes to charge ;) It all adds up when travelling long distances.

Oh good Jesus ...have mercy... 🙏

Its almost as if you were running bugged build (to your benefit) and now the performance is what it should be. Ditch the guardian PP.
