I just got back from an undermining operation in Federal space.
At the flight's midpoint, I docked at a station to rearm and refuel.
I saw a fellow CMDR, aligned with an enemy power. I was flying my Viper Mk IV, the Yakovlev. She's my hazardous operations ship. The ZH CMDR was in a Keelback.
So I rushed through my maintenance, got back in the air, and waited.
I had a lock on the Keelback, and a few minutes later, movement. He hesitated at the access corridor. I reckon he saw my signature on the contacts. But then he flew out the door. At this point I immediately got behind him, and kept on his six.
"Fire restriction zone exited."
I deployed weapons, fired the lasers, and soon enough his shields were down. He started flailing around, desperately trying to break my bead on him. I smashed the primary fire trigger, shock cannon shells cascading into his rear hull. He boosted, but not before I bumped him, weakening his fuselage.
I turned around, hit the boost, and flew into him. My shields saved me from any damage.
Him? Not so fortunate.
After dispatching the Federal supporter, I high-waked to a nearby system, and returned to my HQ.
Why am I telling you this? Because today's incident was thrilling. Like, really thrilling.
