Engineers Something is not right there

Question? how are you popping the SCB's with out overheating?...... as you have no heat syncs at all in your config? that ship would be overheating in a few seconds.

Flight assist OFF and turrets off until 100% heat.
It cools down pretty fast. After using all SCB i have 99% or even 100% hull.
I mean i don't get any significant heat damage at all.

Sometimes it takes just a seconds to take out anaconda or similar ship.
I always targetting powerplant. Cannons destry them fast.
But sometimes these cheattersneaky ferdelances or vipers or whatever ships using infiniete chaffs drives me crazy.

This type of ship can't afford heat sinks or other stuff other than shield boosters.
Because new AI making shields go down in notime.

I agree the npc shields seem super tough, when I run through their subsystems they have the same loadouts as in 2.0 but they are much more difficult to take out with the my same loadout. They may have removed weapon mods but I think a lot of these npcs have enhanced engines, modded engines and shields still. There over use of chaff and SCBs is nauseating.

Last time i met a FDL i had filet de lance
spiced with explosive sauce.
It did not withstand the power of my diplomatic ambassadors.
Diplomacy be my missile launcher...

You said it used 8 chaff and 2 SCb. Thats not even one module each. You meanwhile use an entire C8 SCB, and you say THEY are the ones with infinite buffs? :S

Yes but they take out those giantic shields in seconds.
Before 2.1 cutter was ment to destroy 10 - 20 ships not a single ship.
You won't rank up fast nor make money if you have to go recharge and repair after each battle.
They die in the end but you loosing time on them.
Maybe it is a good idea pay more bounty money and half-reduce number required of killed ships to achive combatr rank.

FDL is heavy fighter, with powerfull enough weapons to deal significant damage to big ships, very good shield, small size and good speed/maneuverability. No wonder it is a problem for sluggish huge ship with turreted cannons... you are lucky you have killed it at all.

I don't know. I don't know. For me before 2.1 was easy to take even 2 ferdelance players without problems.
But i had different weapon loadout. I think 2 player should be a much taugher than 1 NPC.

btw. What would be your best combat ship if you could afford it at what loadout?

Players can have very varied level of skill, they can be much easier than NPC-s sometimes...
In fact high-ranked NPC-s in 2.1 are almost unkillable for some people, even in theoretically better ships.
...
As for "best combat ship"... IMO it is still a choice between FAS and FDL. There are cutter/conda/corvette, but IMO the issue with them is you cannot avoid damage, so you have to tank it, which depletes your limited supply of SCB-s which you will then have to restock. It worked this way even in 2.0, but in 2.1 with better NPC-s it is way more noticable.
I am currently using FAS, because it is noticably more "multipurpose" then FDL, it has reasonably good jump range and few internals for things like cargo ang SRV. Weapons are 3 beams (2 medium 1 large) and 1 large MC.

in HZRES there are tons of FAS NPC's now. :D

I guess I don't see the problem of the NPC using 8 chaff (however, it is annoying flying and shooting through space garbage), since 10 are available in one module. Are you certain that there are NPC's using infinite chaff? Is it a known bug? It may just seem like it, bc some NPC's irritatingly spam it a lot....kind of like human players! :D

And 2 SCB's doesn't seem excessive.

Also, the FDL is far more maneuverable than the Cutter, so I'm not surprised to hear it took you a while. BTW, do you recall what rank of the NPC? The shields seem to be the predominant issue in your encounter.

Before 2.1, I was taking out Elite Anacondas with fair ease in my Vulture. Not as easy anymore, but much more satisfying.

I do agree that some credit balancing needs to be done for the rank, ship, etc. that you destroy. As we all know, much tweaking to come from FD around multiple issues post 2.1, so we shall see how NPC's are in a month or so.

I use an FDL with bi weaves, 2 boosters, 2 chaff, PD, kw scanner.
C4 fixed beam to strip shields, 4x gimballed C2 multi cannons. Eats Elite Anaconda/Pythons/FDLs/Cutters/Corvettes for breakfast, with a side of the other trash ships. I rarely lose shields with it. I don't understand how you can say a cutter shield can go down like that, its got like 5x the shield my fdl has.

Don't even bother with SCBs my shield never goes down with these weak ass AIs.
