In a previous life, I so wish I had thought of "Killing Time" to paint on the side of my Warrior. The man was a genius and is sorely missed.
We can't have too big a tribute to Ian Banks in the game. We should name an entire galactic arm after him or one of his creations.

My personal favourite, thought not a culture novel, is Against a dark background.
