Something positive, as a contrast

o7 CMDRs,

past days were full of more or less justified complaints towards the state of ED. As I agree with some it's not about them. I wanted to share with you some of my latest achievements that show the bright side.

Recently I've become a proud owner of Imperial Cutter. And broke owner since left enough money to secure just 2 rebuys. So with heavy money needs on the horizon, few days ago I took my Clipper and hit the void to haul some cargo. While transporting biowaste and animal meat across the stars I noticed that one of stations I visited reported an outbreak. Didn't paid much attention to that but when I was falling asleep later my brain finally made a connection. Outbreak. Basic Medicines.

So yesterday I logged in to take advantage from that outbreak. And to actually verify if it's that profitable as people report. Initially I wanted to continue in Clipper (240t) but in dire need of funds I took a look at my dusted Anaconda (440t). Checked her cargo racks and noted that many of them could be transplanted into my Cutter.

Small ones went straight, the biggest didn't filled Cutter's capabilities. So, being poor I went even more broke as I bougth 2x 8E and reached astonishing 792t of space. Shieldless. Ugh. I endured whole one run before I dropped 6E rack in favor of shields. 728t is a lot nonetheless.

I started with mere 30M, after outfitting it dropped to just 22M. Awesome start to money earning runs. But 792t of basic medicines brought me 3.6M of income. Been buying BM for 245 Cr, been selling for 4.8K. 175k cost to fully load up my Cutter, 3.3M (after refitting with shields) of income. Distance between supply and drop off systems is mere 13+LYs. sadly I'm still using 7D FSD, no mods and my max range is 11 LY, loaded it drops to 9LYs. What could have been single jump route turned into 5 there and 3 return.

I managed to make just 4 runs before I called it a day. Logging out my balance said: 35M. It felt good. I was playing the game, RPing with helping station fight an outbreak, using my Cutter and earning money at the same time. All while using just the info game provided. No external sources were used. I'm still about 40M short till my next money goal, spot I found will probably dry up quickly but I don't care. Yesterday I did something boring and repetitive but I had fun with that.

Fly safe CMDRs.

Congrats. Took me nearly two years to get my Cutter. And only more recently have I finished upgrading all the modules. It's an expensive ship!

How dare you be positive in the DD section, This kind of behaviour is totally unacceptable...

Any more of this and it's detention.

Shame on you... :p

Since we're positive: I wanted to try to get to Colonia not through a neutron highway, but rather by means of R2R along the way.
The 700M Cr reward at the end was tempting. After jumping and scanning valuable planets for a week, I gave up realizing I would arrive at Colonia probably some time mid July.
I took the neutron highway from there, glad I took AFMU just in case, otherwise that would not be possible.

I love that place. Feels so remote, tranquil and away from all the fuss. Plus, I love the star density :D
Also, if any gold rush happens, I'm too far away from it to be tempted to hop-on before inevitable nerf hummer swings, so that's a plus.

See thats one of the points of criticism. lots of mass haulage missions by effort and reward cannot beat outbreak missions. The profit/t is HUGE here.
And sadly doing all the madicine runs doesn't really helps the system. The game would be so much more fun if there were a lot more purpose in what we do.
So just keep seeking the map for outbreaks and finding a close location for meds to make good money if you wanna stay outside missions randomness generation.
Only a few missions grant higher income/t like 10k, but mostly they are small sized ones so it is a bit pointless to bring a cutter for them.
