Something to do to improve immersion/presence, if you haven't already

Instead of just sitting still and enjoying the 3D of the cockpit and further things by the way the cockpit splits into two as you look at them, try also moving your head left/right/up/down.

Wiggle in your seat. It will make those distant buildings seem the right size even more, as you notice they stay still while the cockpit "moves" around you.

If you already do this, fine, but for some reason I have mostly sat still as I've played for the last year and a half and I did this recently on the CV1 and it added a lot.

Works best on smaller cockpits.

Absolutely - moving about a bit in your cockpit - looking out of the windows, leaning to get a better view of the tinier text in a side panel, and "what does that actually say on the floor panel near my feet in the Python" - all really adds to the sense of immersion.

I find I'm quite mobile in my ship seat, and although my HOTAS isn't quite in the right spot, and I suffer from feeling a little 'small', the illusion is pretty complete.

I feel its even better in the SRV, with the moving steering and suspension arms all visible etc.

Love it now, and it will only get better.

Im so excited with anticipation. All those small movement and position reality-check type things are what is going to make it for me. For me screen resolution doesn't = immersion. For me it is more about the things you're talking above

RedRaven, I notice in your sig that you're in WA. Do you have a Vive? I'm in WA and wondering how long it took to arrive. [edit: disregard I just READ the text next to it]

Get out of your simpit and walk around the flight deck. Look out the windows. The ones that have stairs on the flight deck, put a chair/bench/box there, and have a seat.

I've of course done all that stuff already, but the moving about while actually looking outside at the station buildings was a big thing for me

No matter what I do to improve immersion, the "you've been playing too long" tap on the shoulder from the wife kills it in a heartbeat.
