I think the star is throwing a bit of a "tantrum"
.. or maybe a party for the pyromaniacs in that communist planet.
.. or maybe Empire top secret weapons trying to kill the star, or cause it to flare out and wipe out the systems inhabitants?
Either way, its awesome, and I'm glad my shields could take the approach.
[PS: I'm a firm believer that hiding the pictures within a spoiler tab will cause more shock and awe when the image is revealed.

I like how this one was so bright it even glitched out my cockpit holograms... nice touch- if its intentional!
I honestly sat and stared at this for 30 minutes (gives a whole new meaning to the term "stargazing"). seeing it in slow flowing animation- those arcs and loops writhing around, the blue-violet flares erupting like slow motion lava... just.. amazing.
My only regret was not having Shadowplay running at the time.
