Wait, if merits are the source for Control, then winning a battle does not actually matter in terms of wins for my power? Is that right?
Exactly, just the kills you get along the way.Wait, if merits are the source for Control, then winning a battle does not actually matter in terms of wins for my power? Is that right?
What happened was:So, until yesterday, the struggle for control of Kwazahui was a race between A. Duval and Winters. Slowly, Winters caught up, so it finally got into conflict state by Sunday afternoon, and the merit farming could begin.
But today I fly and finish two battles, and for some reason, the empress Arissa Lavigny-Duval is suddenly in the system with a control score higher than Winters! How did that happen?
The power conflict zones come in all varieties, every power has every other power as possible target. I am not sure if that is intended, but that is how it is. You just have to search for a power conflict zone of your liking in such a system, they are all there. What happened was:
Let me try to illustrate it:
- PCZs are Aisling vs Winters
- Aisling agents can shoot half of the ships in there
- Winters agents can shoot half the ships in there
- Arissa agents can shoot anyone in there
Arissa wasn't past the Conflict Threshold, so no PCZs (at the beginning). But even if the game spawns Arissa vs. One-of-the-other-two PCZs, why would you limit yourself to have half the instance as friendlies? The power conflict zones come in all varieties, every power has every other power as possible target.
