Sometimes it's the little things ....

... in Elite D that just make me smile :)

Here's a couple of mine, what about yours?

1. Getting close to dock at Chango, the sun is behind me and a bit to the right so it casts a shadow of my Hauler onto the surface of spacedock which dances across as I slowly dock ... just excellent!

2. Overshooting a destination in SuperCruise and feeling the gravitational pull from a nearby planet exaggerated by frameshift ... love it!

I never tire of these moments and look forward to discovering a few more :D

Leaving the station and hear the scream of engines behind me and then see an Eagle on full boost speed past and pancake into the wall just above the entrance.
Leaving station (again) and seeing a Lakon coming in, lateral thrust to the side and flash lights, they flash lights in return and I leave when they are past.

The light from the sun coming through the port opening, the brightly lit rectangle moving along the docking pads as the station rotates.

Hanging far above the extraction zones in the rings, seeing the faint dots of other ships as they move around, occasional joined by small pinpoints of laser fire that escape the ring.

I sometimes purposefully don't slow down but go full throttle in SC towards the planet, trying to keep as close as I can, to get that shudder and whoosh effect. I do miss the old one though, where it seemed that ship would shake apart.

Leaving the station in a lakon and am in the tunnel already, Cobra comes boosting in from above to enter the station at high speed, I target him, reverse thrust and full pips to sheild, but it's too late.

The impact skews me sideways in the slot and the cobra goes spinning off into the station on 25% hull.

I had to exit sideways with my thrusters :D

Finding out that the gaps in the planetary rings can be flown through in supercruise.

*Stop by and check out the edges of the gaps - incredibly tidy!

The cracking sounds when your ship ices up.

The dark asteroid fields.

And nearly everything else. :)

...watching the first Elite: Dangerous videos before Alpha started, and hoping like the ens that it's not a pipe dream.

...upgrading to Alpha from Beta and getting into a ship for the first time. Savoring every moment, and taking it for it's first spin (completely ignoring the canisters I'm supposed to shoot up in the mission).

...getting in a longer, more drawn-out dogfight with a player who enjoys dogfighting as much as you do.

...exploring, and taking pictures to prove it.

Viewing the active surface of a star through my side window (especially the red ones) as I line of for my SC towards whatever location I am going to.

Gliding along the length of the Aulin station when having arrived from the "rear" of it, looking at the cargo pods, the small ring and finally the large ring with its green areas inside.

Exiting a station and noticing the location I want to go to is in a new relative direction, since since stuff well... orbits.

Watching a Lakon or Anaconda glide in for docking, with smaller ships zipping past, then holding behind as the big one blocks the gate.

Looking through the "floor" of the Lakon when going in for landing.

Arriving near a planet with rings.

The ambient station sounds, the go into hangar animation sequence and the starport services bootup animation.

"Loitering is a crime..."

/Merf - Just so many things... I could go on and on...
