Sorbago civil war.

Been running missions and fighting in the war zones since the event started and still the influences are on 28.5% for both the waring factions. I would of thought at some point we would of seen a swing either way due to all the players I have seen taking part.

I think the way it works, is that the Devs have locked the influence, but are veiwing the numbers and when they have decided that we've had enough time and the story should move on, they will declare the winner.

I'm sure it's meant to move in a more organic way like in the cases of Lugh where the players are making their own content, although that doesn't seem to be fully working, but in the case of the FD storyline we have to accept some interferance by the devs, otherwise if we all ganged up on one side we could end up finishing the war within hours before a lot of pople even got to Sorbago.

I hope that isn't true for you guys and us in Lugh... But I can't wait for the 'Big trouble in Alpha Centauri' scenario :D

I hope we see a shift in the story soon, I want the numbers to start changing :D Having a blast at it anyway, had a laugh at the capital ship warzone earlier, enemy CMDR joined the opposite side then rage quit saying my attack on him was 'uncalled for'. That moment was my first Elite Dangerous face palm moment. Even took a pic to remember it.

what the ?

is this for real?

i should stop looking this forum..every day a new cut! better stay with hope for this game for now and come reeally later

Didn't realease that influence has seemed to stop in all areas. Haven't been out of the civil wars zones to notice, so maybe it is just a bug.

Also, I'm not saying that our actions have no effect, I'm sure that they do, just that FD will be keeping a close eye on what is happening is happening in the Storyline areas, and maybe keeping a reign on things so that they don't change too quickly.

If at a time they declare a winner, I'm sure it won't be because they favor one side or the other, or because of a coin toss.

It will be from them evalulating the actions of the players; the number of kills in combat zones, missions completed, trading done, bounty hunting etc. We know from comments made by them during the Eranin conflict that they have this info at their finger tips.

I just wish they would make it clearer what actions do have an effect in a warzone and which don't.

I'd even be happy if they don't give us a full rundown, but atleast a note along the lines of:

'The background sim is working correctly and each and every action has an effect of some sort. Use your own common sense to work out what.'

or 'Only missions and combat zones have any effect'

or 'It's all a bit bugged at the moment but we are trying to fix it, and we are keeping a close eye on the situation, so none of your actions will go unnoticed.'

Well one thing I noticed is that 3000 credits a head for Imperial slaver scum is not a fair wage. Especially with the level of expertise these fighters have. The slaves need to step up their payout!

I'm sharing your face palm.

You are right, a payout of a paltry 3000cr for destroying glorius Imperial ships is an insult! Do these ungrateful slaves not realise that the Imperial ships are creations of noble grandious beauty? Do they lack the comprehension that their destruction is not just an act of breaking apart a tool but also the vandalism of a work of art?
Surely they should at least offer compensation of an order equal to the crime that they are endorsing?

On the other hand, why pay us 3000cr for killing these pathetic rebillous slaves? I'd quite happily pay the Empire for the privledge to remove this scum from our precious lands.

Ahaha, this made my day.

this is why the IMPs are not winning, players working against us. :)

But why do I almost exclusively see people fighting for the Empire - does the game instance friendlies with each other?

Is that normal? I always end up in capital ship instances where everyone is fighting for the empire. Tried it a couple of times and it always looks like this (one player actually picked the uprisings side - Kudos to you):

Look in anarchy systems. Closest one to sorbago is duwaredari system that I know has a slave market.

I found a few stations that said they export slaves, but they didn't.

I found some about 90 LY away, should be been suspicious when they gave me 180 hours to complete the mission.

Ill try your suggestion in the future.
