Sorry but I like the Adder

Agree - took an Adder after Sidewinder and finding it a very nicely balanced ship for a reasonable cost especially with a few engine and cargo upgrades. Will do me until I get a Cobra.

The 1st time in took my new Asp out to bounty hunt, i was jumped by a crazy NPC Adder who started unleashing missiles at me, and a wretched torrent of scathing multi-cannon fire. I couldn't believe how powerful this Adder's attack was. He p---ed me off bad, and while he was no match for my quad C1 beams and duel C2 multi-cannons, the bum out-maneuvered me pretty good and was able to fsd away. He left me with a 73k repair bill and a very bad taste in my mouth :D
I now obliterate every Adder i see. Lol

I just traded my Eagle up to an Adder for light trading and exploration. I must say I'm growing quite attached to that goofy looking ship.
Has anyone else noticed the difference between the Adder hologram and the actual model? The winglets on the hologram come off the main wings at a very low angle but on the actual model, they appear to stand off the wings at something like 70-80 degrees. It's a minor detail but it's a real eye-twitcher for OCD pilots such as myself.

I had an Adder for awhile and then sold it for a Cobra, then I missed it so brought it as a second ship. I think it's great for dogfighting in resource extraction zones, great manoeuvrability and some decent fire power to match.....only grib is the Cobra's top is definitely missed.

the hologram does look odd.

I think I also like it because the cockpit in VR is amazing.

I think I also might be the only person who likes how the ship looks. It looks like dignitaries shuttle to me

Aww, sweet memories.
If you like the Adder, you'll worship the Cobra MkIII! She's a bit rough (as in diamond) ...but with a few upgrades.

Am I alone in thinking the cockpit looks very much like a Star Trek runabout? It reminds me of some scenes from DS9. :D

I had been using this as a cargo hauler as soon as I could afford one. I just recently traded it in for a Cobra. It is a bit of the short yellow bus though. I think its great as you work up to your first 500K in cash and prizes.

I just wish I could have had "puzzy wagon" decal on the side.

I would think so but the wiki has it as an explorer

Hmmmm the site has this

The Adder is another classic design, this ship was tailored as a general utility vessel. The original model was first built in 2914 by Outworld Workshops and the type is now manufactured by Zorgon Peterson. Although lightly armed it has more cargo capacity than the Sidewinder and this ship can often be seen doing shuttle runs as well as light trading.

Sounds like multi-purpose

well thank you very much people in the thread now I HAVE to buy an adder
is it good for mining? I wanted a mining ship anyway

I tried out an Adder for bounty hunting for an afternoon, but I kept getting canopy breaches. Probably just due to inexperience with the ship, but I got frustrated and traded it in.

My Adder is rigged for mining, which I like to indulge in occasionally, so it's my second ship. As pirate attack has become more common during mining operations I need a ship which can defend itself and the 3-hardpoint layout works well for that. When I used a Hauler for mining all I could do was run!

Thanks! 2 Lasers and a mining laser?
