Sorry Guys, i just can't get on with it!

Sorry guys, I don't even have a Rift yet, so I wouldn't know. I thought it would work just like a regular desktop :D

P.S.
Wasp0, thanks for announcing this just after I purchased a new Rift :(

Right now, Oculus Home can't multitask, so you can run one app/game at a time only.

Set the SRV Camera to "Lock to Horizon" - that will likely have a positive effect..

This fixed my issue with the SRV for me. I used to get motion sick driving it, but now I don't, and I absolutely love driving it.

There's absolutely no need to apologise. We are playing this for fun. And if it doesn't feel good then don't do it.

There! I said it... And I think I managed to hide my true feelings. <sob>

Its good you gave it a solid attempt.

Keep an eye on VR, though - multi-tasking and higher detail and resolutions will fix most if not all your problems.

Fly safe CMDR - I will be on your six where you can't see me! :p

Maybe try again once the gen 2 headsets are out.

If you ordered from the JL website you should still be able to return it for a refund:

If you’ve changed your mind about keeping your purchase, please return it in its original condition with proof of purchase and we’ll exchange or refund it. Unless faulty, this should be within 35 days of receiving your order. By original condition, we’d expect this to mean that you’ve kept packaging and labels, and that the item is undamaged and unused.
(not sure if the same applies if you bought in-store).

Yeah I can totally understand OP. My biggest gripe with ED in VR is that the galaxy map and system map do not get a correct mouse pointing in VR, which in theory shouldn't be too hard to do and do not get a curved menu. That makes exploring with a VR headset tedious.
Combat on the other hand is very cool. Trading inside the bubble etc. are fine, too.
Gladly I've managed to get a toggleable (and usable) browser window inside the game working.

I've bought my headset for ED, but in the end keep it for other apps.

If we all like the same thing there would be only one thing. No need to apologize for your personal prefs Wasp0. Enjoy playing how you like to play.

Wasp0, I would return it, citing ill health and saying you are experiencing nausea dizziness because of it. Surely at worst they'd give you vouchers in exchange.

My first thought was after being constantly wowed was this is really much much bigger and I must learn my spacial awareness. So much so that it made me think just as switching to a HOTAS from K&M would, that I may find it harder in combat with the lower res and it all seemly being more to handle as I am being overwhelmed by the grand scale of immersion compared to my usual Facetracknoir 2D Monitor setup. I was getting shivers down my spine whilst docking and at RES as the size of the Asteroids was breath taking and the galaxy just looks awesome. It takes much of your time just taking it all in. I thought I'd probably fight better in 2D but going back to it after Windows Update messed it all up for a while it was just dull like I lost the will to even bother clubbing seals in 2D. VR is the way to go and it simply gets better just as you get more use to it and sweat less and gets more comfortable. It takes a bit of adjusting to is all but it does keep the life especially with adding Multi-Crew.

I don't like the motion sickness titles but they are a great demo of it's power. I uninstalled Subnautica as that is cpu demanding and I got very sick doing it although it was also amazing. I love The Climb as it's very physical to stretch out in motion tracking but to play it hardcore style by gripping the least on triggers is a very high skill level. It gives me vertigo, I sweat loads, and I hate to play it so much I think it's brilliant.

No thanks, that would be slower :).

But much less cumbersome than changing from one control method to another and actually works as opposed to what you are trying to do that doesn't work...... The Galmap is plenty speedy enough while using a hotas, although I do agree that the sys map is a little on the slow side but it is extremly functional and nothing to really complain about.

If trying hellov.io then you must have a steady 90fps else it can not load. Even with ASW Disabled it actually still caps it at 45fps if dipping too much below 90fps to try and help it without the added frames. I really would have preferred Oculus to remove it by option entirely and allow the ingame setting to be say 60 or 75 if we cant achieve the 90 it wants. In E:DD we only get cap limits at 45 60 120 and up. This is not fully well thought out.

You can zoom out in the system map as well which speeds things up a lot.
