My 2 brothers and I see Elite dangerous at E3 and talked of nothing else. The original was one of the best games we ever played. So we jumped all over it when we got back home. Now we are all signed up with our lifetime expansions and ready to go. After getting the basics down we had a couple questions you might be able to answer.

1. I see a bubble on the galaxy map that I assumed was the distance I could travel based on my power/fuel but that didn't change when I jumps to another system. So I'm thinking that is the extent of what we can explore?

2. Can't seem to locate each other. Is there a way to locate friends and family in game?

3. Has mining been implemented yet?

4. Any goto fansite?

1. Yes. Fuel not implemented yet.
2. Not at present. Friends lists/contacts are coming
3. Not yet. No ETA on this.

1- Bubble is the working beta zone not ship range (that's not in yet)
2- Check the server top left as you log in. You must be on the same server to have a chance to meet
3- No player controlled mining yet.
4- ?

Beta 1 (end of month) should open more systems.

As the game matures and moves into later Beta stages FD will unlock more systems.

Once the game is in Gamma phase (pre-release) everything should be unlocked - no time frame for that.

Is the only way of changing server is to quit the game and enter back in a HOPE you're on the same one?

In the current build yes, but the first version of the matchmaking system will come in SB1 at the end of the month. Then you will be able to create friends lists to make sure you'll meet inside the game.
