Sort ramming out for the love of all that is good !!

My last 7 deaths at least have been from getting rammed from nowhere, either by NPC or player, don't know it's hard to tell in the warzone, but really it needs to be sorted, I have noticed it more and more, now it seems to be the staple, needs nerfing into oblivion.

I'm sorry if this comes across as rude, but I just realized that in all my time in the game I've never been rammed.

Is there any chance that you might have been so focused on a target that you flew into someone else's flight patch and they didn't have time to react?

Me neither - 6000 mins played, 218 kills and not once been rammed ..... Had a few close calls but I'm usually very careful when other ships are around especially with head on jousts.

Ramming is a typically rare event. However, with averages and what not...there are going to be some people who see it happen a lot, some who see it a bit and some who see it never.

For example, I have had a pretty ram free experience in just over two months of beta testing. Though, on one 2 hr outing, in Beta 2 I got rammed three different times in three different places. Just out of nowhere. Though it seems, and I've learned to watch for it, that SAs will veer a hard turn after their target is eliminated. In some cases that hard veer is right into your cockpit.

No, I've even had invisible ramming with literally nothing on my radar, I have been grouped with a friend who could see me but I could not see them, he was able to bump me even though I couldn't see him, and vice versa depending on which way the wind blew it seems.

The ram I just got then was in a warzone literally nothing in front of me it came from the side or back, I think people are getting mad at warzones or extraction sites if you steal a few kills and resorting to ramming you while you are fighting someone else. Perhaps you guys just aren't going to all the right places heheheheheh try the extraction site at lp 98-132 or the warzone in I bootis out by the dustball :)

I have most definitely started the game inside the hull of a space station on multiple times, so I've logged in and been greeted by my ship spiraling out of control and exploding. So... yeah I could definitely believe there's some weird netcode collision stuff happening here and there!

Ah now this might explain a death I had the other day. I was just dawdling along nothing else around, in normal flight, and boom I'm spinning, 'eject eject eject'....

Collision damage has already been nerfed, too much in my opinion.

If you are being rammed by ships that aren't rendering for you, that's a connectivity/netcode bug and should be fixed, otherwise, pay attention and move out of the way.

I have only ever been rammed in warzones, not counting the current interdiction bug. Even then, it was always because I just happened to cross the path of a fed fighter that just hit his boosters. So if you don't want to die from ramming, stay out of the war zones. It is a warzone after all.

Sometimes i ram people too because i miscalculate the range or i don't know whats going on around me so i strafe into them etc. I think its hard to tell and the little radar isn't that accurate.

I have been rammed by a few NPC's deliberately in the past,I like how the collisions are working at the moment as I haven't had any deaths, however you can't have a Conda slam into a sidewinder and do equal damage can you, because physics!

The problem is griefers using this with no consequences and I can't think of a way to counter it? anyone else?

This...there is no logical reason that a space pilot would deliberately crash their ship. Therefore, there needs to be a penalty, however, how do you shake out the intentional rammings from the accidental ones? Maybe a ramming counter? Hit so many and then get grounded for some time to return to basic flight school?

Perhaps a like for like ship hit could resort in equal damage to both ships, regardless off who's moving or who's still or whatever or whatever the shield status, so if you can ram a cobra with an anaconda then the cobra blows, try ramming a cobra with a cobra and they both go or nearly :) regardless of shield or hull status :) or perhaps make it so that a collision will damage shields but not hull unless you bump into a substantially bigger ship, in other words ramming should be made almost suicidal to make people really think twice.

However this kind of goes against the hull upgrades which I am sure people use not for defence but literally just to ram other people, so maybe some kind of nerfing needs to be done on the hull types available too, it's a can of worms !!

Also it would be nice to see the player name of whoever rammed you after you die, like a kill, just so you actually know who did it...after all revenge is sweet and it is currently an anonymous tactic that get's them no bounty and no kill, maybe if some of the love was given back it may make them think twice :)
