Engineers SORTED - confused about % probe increase

Simple really - I just modded a new DSS at Flic's place - so max G3 "Detailed Surface Scanner - Expanded probe scanning radius (Grade 3)" gives just +26% and not the supposed +30%. What exactly is going on here? Anyone else seen this happening?

Sorted - I had not understood / realised what was the base level.

Yes 26% is 130% of 20% but the lower figure when crafting is the max that that level goes up to. - Have a look at any mod you do, as you craft a mod at a level, every "roll" (to use an archaic term ) makes the top figure increase until it reaches the max figure for that grade and reads the same as the lower figure. This probe thing must be borked.

It is confusing that the probe starts out with a figure of 20% (I didn't realise that) and the modifications are a percentage increase of that original figure.

It is a bit weird that the probe's function is represented as a %. It's certainly not a % of the planet's surface.
