I bought some and went to Takurua which is pretty much the only system in the sweet spot for selling a rare from Sothis and they are not buying it! I took it into the bubble and can't find anyone that wants this stuff. What's the deal? Thanks.

The only rare goods you can't sell at every station are illegal ones, so it won't be this. It makes no difference what type of station you are selling rares, just the distance.
I'm guessing you are meaning that the price you are being offered is at a loss. This will be because you are running a 3rd party app, such as ED market connector. This is a known bug. I have heard that relogging in the station you want to sell can work.

So I shut down Ed market connector, relog, and the price is good now. Thank you! I did a ton of searching on this forum and others and didn't come across that bug.
Since the last update there is an intermittent none-third-party-software pricing bug with Rares! After wiping my save I trudged all the way out to Sothis in my Sidewinder and made only 1000cr/ton on Sothis Crystaline Gold after taking it all the way back to George Pantazis. I do not use (have never used) 3rd party software.
Did relogging at your destination help?
If you've got the Alioth permit I'd sell there. Back in January the sell price at Gotham Park was 38,225.

I've noticed the rares price bug too on occasion since the last update, and I never use third-party tools while I'm Rares running, since I already know how Rares work and what to do with them. I don't think it's just a third-party-tool issue, I think if you have any other software running in the background (web browser, word processor, malware-detector etc) it might be enough to cause the glitch. And let's face it, most of us PC players usually have something running in the background while we're playing Elite.

It's a pity that the missions system virtually ignores rare goods. There's nothing wrong with Sothis being a hub of long distance profit, but this should be for shipping the rare gold, not the brown stuff.
I never had any trouble unloading Sothis Crystalline Gold and regularly used it to fill the corners of the cargo racks when running long-range cargo delivery missions to the bubble. Demand seems to fluctuate in approx. 150 LY waves. If not in demand where you are, fly a few dozen LY and try again.
