Sound and music

Just wondering if anyone else plays with the sound switched off, for whatever reason.

I like the sound and music but after a while it's very dull. It's good but it gets very boring. You know .. the kind of hing you'd listen to once or a few times but not often. Not knocking the sound guys, just curious.

i have music turned down so it's hardly noticeable, i just never like the music the games have and i prefer to turn all down considerably (music/sounds), also when i use headset and mic then it's more comfortable to have as less noise in my head as possible :)

also when we are fighting we are not listening to music or even sounds but concentrating on our sensors/hud, that's why i listen to any music only when i close my eyes and do completely nothing - otherwise it's background music and background as well can be silence ;)

I have it turned down, and play my itunes client in the background as any good trader should. ;)

While I was flying the Lakon-6, I also turned down effects. That machine made some really loud sounds while launching from a station. I was happy to see that gone with the Lakon-9.

I turn on OCRemix radio while I play, or a podcast, and the music off.

It's a habit with space games. The music is inherently ambient and I inherently prefer something else.

Being able to choose my internet radio stations and play them through the cockpit interface would be fantastic, and perfectly in line with the game in my opinion.

The radio is the source of sanity for anyone who engages in long distance travel.

yes, when lakon 9 was down in hangar the sound volume jumped a lot, kinda annoying as the moment you left launching pad it went back to normal ;)

I've seen a few people using VoiceAttack to great effect to control their music. It feels like you're talking to the ship's computer to request your listening preferences. :)

The problem with that is I'll be spending the majority of my time in multiplayer with friends, talking over TeamSpeak.

I see what you mean as I'll likely be doing the same, but how would bring able to control....ah...nevermind...it's using Voice Attack itself, rather than having music playing that would be the problem?

:D

Yep. I would like to avoid push to talk because it would make a mess of my current bindings, and channel surfing when none of the stations are playing anything good would just be rude to anyone I'm on comms with. :D

I always switch music off, in every game I play, never liked that. But the sound effects, speech and all are switched on, makes me feel more "in the game".

I turn the music off in most games.

Every game it gets annoying sooner or later,
+ its off putting when the sound effects are important.
+ Id rather hear the sound effects and ambiance as thats more immersive imo.

Personally, I like the in game music, especially the way when you get into a dogfight, it becomes more dramatic.

The sound and music team have done a great (like every other part of the dev team, really) and beats the likes of GTA hands down.
