You can't hear the engines? Have you tried turning the sound up? I mean FDEV have been accused of lots of failings, but the sound in game has never been one of them!

I don't mean that you can't hear it, but that all the ships have the same sound of engines and voices on board.

Ships do have different engine sounds, and you can change each ship's computer voice to whatever voice pack you own in the livery.

As stated, engine sounds are per ship, it's clear once you fly enough of them.
