Soundtrack

First of all, I wanted to create this thread to discuss about the possible game musics included in PC and in their development videos too.
The E3 Reveal Trailer had "Compass" by Lady Antebellum as the theme for it; I don't know if they may put songs made by various music groups too in the final game (I think we'll do this with custom music, though), but what if they choose this approach?

Then we heard that guitar tune in the development videos released so far, which is kinda nice, probably it could fit for the menu theme too.. What do you think of it?

Last thing.. the game composer(s).
RCT3 composer was Alistair Lindsay and whenever we hear "Summer Air" nostalgia of RCT3 pervades us... Do we know something about the PC composer so far? It'd be nice to know something more about what they're planning to do for the game... I guess all we can do for now it's to discuss about it between us and maybe, after some time, we may have more informations by official sources..
Alright, let the discussion begin!

The only tune I remember from RCT3 is Summer Air, because it sounded din the menu (I think it changed with soaked and wild?) and I liked it, but I much prefer the darker RCT1 and 2 main themes.
At the end of the day I used 99% of time custom music though, although I remember putting some Lindsay songs if they felt good with the theming.

The songs they are using now for the trailers remind me of the instrumentals of MLP Fim, im not too much into country music, but the seem pleasent to the ears.
Again if they tried something more similar to RCT1 and 2 menu themes, I would like it more. That songs stayed in my mind forever, they have this lingering epic sound but still sound like theme parks.

For me, summer air is the perfect theme-park song. It sounds so much like summer, freedom and adventure. Not only the best rct-song (for me) - it would be very high in my "best" videogame music list - if I had a best videogame music list ;)

Make a list. It's always great to have a "Best [...] list", or at least for me, helps organize my thoughts.

As for Summer Air, I think it's a great song, fits the tone really well, it's just not a tone people appreciate, and that's perfectly fine; to each their own [yesnod]. To be honest, I don't like the instrumental song they use for their videos. Seems off to me, and I can't figure why [knockout].

I never paid much attention to the titles, but I thought the soundtrack was pretty nice. Most simulation games excel in this department (SimCity 4, Cities: Skylines, RCT3, etc.)

I can give you summer and free, because it really nails that part. But adventure? hectic theme park feeling? The song is SUPER chill, but it doesnt sound anything like two things that are much faster paced.

In case you're wondering, the music they've been using in recent videos are variations of this.

By the term adventure I mean "exploration" in this case. Of course, the song is not adventuresque like - for example - an Indiana Jones movie - but more in terms of an adventure-movie like "Stand by me"... okay, crude example, but I think you know what I mean;)

For the second point, I must edit a bit - it's not the best theme park music for me - it's the best theme park game music...because as a player I am in no hectic and if I scroll out and look at my park the chilling sound of "summer air" fits the mood perfectly

Makes sense[big grin]

This will probably mean is not really music for the game, only for the trailers. As it can be buyed and used by other people.
Although I have to say that Tread Fast 4 sounds really cool, with the underscore. Is my favourite version of the ones in the website.

Wouldn't it be awesome if they would setup a area where artists can contribute music for the parks or even if a artist contributes they will build a peep of there band for the game so we can go to a live concert while we visit the parks. Come on artist contribute to the game.

I dont know but are there some 10 hour version video's of that music?

I prefer RCTW's theme song over PC's:

and the one that started it all:

nostalgia...
