Distant Galaxies
You realise how awesome this game is when you stumble upon things like this.
I was tooling around the Liabeze navigation beacon when I spotted something that stood out from the background. It was quite dark but looked round so at first I though it was a planet, but there were no orbit rings around it so I decided to go and check it out. As I started to move away from the Liabeze star the object became brighter and more distinct and looked like it had rings. I thought it was getting closer as the rings seemed to be getting more distinct so locked onto all the nearest stars on my nav panel but none corresponded. I then started to consider that the appearance of the object getting closer was perhaps just an optical illusion caused by the rings becoming more clear as I moved away from Liabeze (and hence the distance between them seemly larger). I realised then that what I was looking at was most likely another galaxy.
In the screenshot below there is also a second galaxy in the bottom right corner. Unfortunately due size limitations I couldn't upload the bmp version which is clearer.
