Space Engine 0.9.7.2 update

Mods, feel free to move this, I'm not sure if there's a better place for it but given the crossover enthusiasm I figured I'd try here first.

In case you hadn't seen it yet, there is a new update to Space Engine that came out on the 26th. It adds a lot of new graphical enhancements and it runs much smoother on my machine than it used to.

I'd try it out, but it completely refuses to start on my (high spec) PC! Just get a Windows dialog stating that the program stopped working as soon as I try and start it..

Could someone provide a way to get all those beautiful addons for 0.9.7.2 without going through painful process of clicking their broken/slow links for each planet?

Thanks

Amazing! It's supposed to support oculus rift as well, I can't wait to hear people's impressions on this.

Hello Zephyriel, yes there is native support for the oculus in this latest version and words can't describe how it feels to watch a sunset on an Alien world except breath taking, lighting effects are stunning, it even takes into account the light from different stars filtering through different atmospheres.
Been a fan of Vlad the space engineer since the first edition, what he has done on his own is nothing short of mind blowing and it's all for free.

I have a desktop image I use as wallpaper, I wanted to share but alas this is my first post, I will post it up when I am able to, but there are tons of images on space engines website that are hypnotic, as well as many many videos on youtube created by SEngines users that are impirational.
For myself at least, moving from our home world, across our little Solar system and out to our local systems then past all the stars and out of our Milkyway, then pause to soak up the view before continuing on to watch each galaxy float by like the stars did moving through the milky way is wonderous stuff.
I highly recommend this experience to anyone with a rift bare in mind though that version 0.972 was developed using the DK1, so I'm not sure how it will be with the DK2 but it will be EPIC having seen how much better the DK2 is than DK1, that aside, I can access menus and read text without any real difficulty using my DK1.

'impirational' LOL, I'm sure you know I meant inspirational. :)

Thanks VFRift Walker. Since I posted this, I got myself a DK2 and briefly got to try it on space engine. It didn't work very well, I think I'll need to do a lot of tweaking before I can use it. I'm sure it's great when working properly.

Sorry for this very late reply Zephyriel, did you ever manage to sort your issues out with your rift and SE? Hope you have, I decided to hold off on ordering a DK2 as it turned out not long after that decision, they announced Q1 2016 for the CV1, currently saving hard for the GPU power to run it first, sooo looking forward to next year :) scr00006.jpg One of the screen captures I promised to put up :)
