Odd question here.
One of the great things about playing Frontier, or First Encounters, or now Pioneer, is that you don't have to play them.
Or rather, because they can be set to run in real time, and they can involve hours or days of real time flying across systems, they can be sort-of-played while you're doing something else.
I often sit and write or do other work while my ship coasts through the void on autopilot.
Why, you ask? It's just a quirk. Same reason I used to load up Flight Simulator and set my flying boat down on a big lake somewhere, then pull Word to the front and sit working for a while. It just meant I could imagine sitting doing said work in some more interesting spot.
Back to space, though. I'm wondering whether anybody knows of any games - particularly trading or mission-running games - for Android that don't need constant attention?
I know there's a genre of 'idle games', including that one where your dungeony and dragonesque character adventures by herself, with only occasional inputs from you... But I'm looking for something more like a kind of Elite or Frontier where I can buy cargo here, set my destination, and then just leave the game to fly there while I go off and do other stuff, checking in occasionally when I get chance at work, or whatever.
Presumably such a game wouldn't have a lot of scope for combat, and that'd be fine with me: for me that's always the least interesting part of space games anyway.
Oh, it probably goes without saying that it'd also need to be a game that can keep running even when I take focus off the process. If Android can't do that and therefore renders this whole post pointless... erm, well. Sorry, I suppose.
So with that vague-yet-strangely-specific template in mind, can anyone give me any suggestions?
