Space is big

I just got back from my first trip to the neutron star fields. I only scanned 1000 stars, but I got my name on 820 of them, which gave a nice 18 million bonus. Was I lucky or is that normal?

Normal depending on where you go and how long you stay. Neutron fields are very plenty but are a big target for those looking to hit Elite quickly so I expect within 3-4 years they'll be mostly used up.

Seriously doubt that. Taking into account that they start at appr. 10 kly towards SagA and continue with increased density above and below the plane right to the center, and then go on until about 20 kly after Sag A the number of NS must be uncountable and certainly un-scanable, even if every active player would do nothing else in those 3-4 years. Been there, scanned more than 1000 of them myself. The fields are endless.

Ok, I thought there was only 2 main fields along the galactic core "pill shape" where the arms meet. Being honest I haven't done much NS farming so wouldn't know. :p
