I found a way to make space legs easily. Use camera mode in a cut down form and stick it to surfaces. Then at least let people walk around in the cockpit. Also tie it into the holome info. they could add some new features to the cockpit then. No idea what but it could be interesting. Even if it's just to enhance multiplayer for multicrew to give things for people to do together out in the void. Maybe holochess. ;d
It probably wouldn't be hard to add things like jump and other features controlling the move rate.
