That is surprising.
At least this shows that FDev is thinking about a vehicle specialized for mining.
I am wondering... Is this SLF sized?
Considering the detail, it does seem to be a very small vessel, and the weapons do not seem to be retractable.
I hope this is some sort of SLM (Ship Launched Miner) that can place charges on asteroids.
If you could also dig up some Mining-SRV concept art you would make me even more happy

This looks like a slf for mining as it looks small enough.

A mining fighter you could command to do one of the energy based mining options would be a welcome addition.

Guess Core Dynamics must be licensing the design from Lakon...
Sorry forgot to say - that was a post by Joshua Millyard about 9 months ago, also on his Artstation page which the OP linked to. So it looks like the design was created as a proposed Lakon ship months and months ago, and has recently been rebranded as a core dynamics product. Still unsure if its ever going to be added to the game, but cool as it is, given the 9 month silence from FDev on thhe first (Lakon) iteration of this design, I'm not overly optimistic that these things will ever grace our shipyards screens or SLF hangars.

The thing is way bigger than an SLF, just look at the cockpit and the fact it can store 8 limpets and a refinery...
This thing would be totally useless for mining even with the new mining and core deposits.

I would love some mining specialist SLF's, especially if they could pick up and store some fragments, freeing me up some from limpet-controller hell.
It would be cool to get to play large mining vessel as more "mothership" type, instead of just a giant malformed Adder.

An SLF miner would be useful for multicrew mining.

That being said, there's no way that thing is fitting into a fighter bay. If you look at the size of a cockpit canopy on an SLF and compare it to the MAW you'll see the MAW is at least twice as long and 3 times taller.
