Space PETA faction that offers missions to defend thargoids.

Some of us are utterly convinced that thargoids are a red herring and are not invading human space but rather being driven into it by a yet unknown threat. Our mission is to protect these majestic creatures and their breeding grounds. This faction could offer missions ranging from liberating thargoid cargo to assassinating notorious thargoid poachers. Maybe also taking surveys of thargoid surface sites, inspecting barnacles for damage etc.

Get enough ppl behind and you may actually be able to get a CG going. There seem to be enough support for your thing and there are even other various 'goid sects out in space so it should be consistent with game lore.
