There is a film called Space Station 76
I liked it. Having grown up in the 1970's and looked forward to a future not unlike that depicted in the film I am kind of glad in some ways how things have not turned out much like that....
Still, if Musk has his way and we go multi-planetary who knows what versions of humanities future lie ahead....
Aaaaanyway - there is a bit in there that pays homage to the original Elite. Not going to give any spoilers....

Also have to say - I really enjoyed this film, hilarious, deep and the acting and sets are great. However it is not Hollywood and some might find the pacing and general angle not much fun if you are looking for a standard Sci-fi action type film.
