Newcomer / Intro Space terms?

I was just wondering what OTHER are the terms used for:
1) Supercruise
2) Warping/jumping between places
3) Disengaging either supercruise or warp

I understand that the Frame Shift Drive powers both supercruise and warping, correct?

4) Engine power, ie "engines on full thrust" or "engines off" or "full thrusters".... I've heard people use the term "impulse power"
5) The blue bit that denotes best maneuverability in thrust
6) Sensors? Radar?

Thanks!

I use
1) Supercruise or SC.
2) Jump.
3) Drop or Drop in. You are correct.
4) Full throttle four pips, Full throttle two pips etc Thrusters are you lateral thrusters
5) Blue line speed.
6) Scanner

You're welcome.
As I said this is what I use, everyone else is just wrong :p

1) Supercruise is a system for FTL in system travel, eg getting from planet to planet.

2) Warping is done between star systems and is much faster to cope with the vast distances.

3) You disengage supercruise when you reach your destination. The drive stops warping the space around your ship and you 'drop out' into normal space.

Yes, Supercruise and Warping are both powered by the FSD. Warp, Hyperjump and jumping are pretty much interchangeable terms for the same thing.

4) You can push power to engines while diverting it from weapons and shields.

5) We call this combat speed or the blue zone. It's very important in combat.

6) The sensors are your ships 'eyes'. It's a passive system that finds the location of ships around you using the IR (or heat) signature and displays it on the radar lookalike in the cockpit (the scanner).

Radar is quite different. It is not passive so it put's out radio waves and uses any that are bounced back to determine where things are. Using radar can give your presence away so we use heat signatures in Elite.

Also, there's a difference between the Discovery Scanner (which pings distant objects so they show up in the nav panel and your radar) and your Sensors (which get detailed info and short-range radar).

Sorry about that. I meant what are the OTHER terms used for words? ie, Supercruise = FTL drive, Warp = Jump

1) I use FSD and supercruise interchangably, and sometimes in my notes abbreviate it to s/c
2) Jump / hyperdrive
3) drop out
4) full throttle and also kill throttle
5) optimum speed or simply throttle 'in the blue', but the same blue bar is used for a different purpose in FSD (albeit one that can still be described using either of these terms)
6) sensors when referring to the equipment, radar when referring to the cockpit display
